James Beattie 8 million = 1 goal from a pen in one season ......we have signed some duff strikers - Tuson....... 27 million...... Bernie Wright, Rod Belfitt etc etc & you decry a striker who bags 15 league goals costing 1.5 million..... they then on the terraces shouted this about Joe Royle when he replaced our idol The GV ....
I f we can get the right blend of a team all those early goals DCL scored early on when our midfield blended etc he may be a great striker - it took Sharpy an age to get going......
Fans today in all top clubs want instant success... true fact.....
 
I really don’t understand the positives with him and why he defended so much. Agreed his goal return is great this season but what else does he offer? His passing range is terrible, he look disinterested, he can’t go past a player, doesn’t assist, can’t shoot & guaranteed to not even test the keep in a one on one situation but yes he can score 3 yards out.

Bar 2-3 good goals everything else was tap ins. Understand a goal is a goal but he has had so many chances in games this season where he has made a mess of it.

£80m quoted can’t be true and if it is we should bite UTDs hand off.

all he does is score buddy. what a disgrace.
 

2nd behind Kane for goals scored in open play is a massive achievement.

2nd highest scorer from open play this season.. ?

tap ins= excellent movement

your knowledge of centre forward play is extremely limited

....he’s rapid in running the channels, he‘s competitive and combative, his hold up play, aerial ability and touch is very decent, he defensively clears lots of opposition corners & set pieces and he’s contributed a decent goals return.

Thats not too shabby.

He’s terrific. Problem with losing him is replacing him with somebody nearly as good.

I’ve backed him for three years, his gaa a me as a handful is spot on and he’s a great one touch finisher. It’s the middle area, the bit in between that I think he will always struggle
I really like him, but his game is limited and we are seeing the best of it already
