Ok, why are we supposed to be hating the guy this week? The England penalty? Is it the England penalty? Is that what it is? The England penalty? I wouldn't be too concerned about it really. It's all part and parcel of football, and if something like that happens again I'm pretty sure DCL will react differently and stand his ground if needs be.

I've only ever seen the lad take one penalty, and it was a cracker. Everton need to get him to take spot-kicks for us from next season.

….not sure you watched much of him for England Youth teams, but he was the penalty taker for them and successfully converted quite a few. I‘ve seen him score at least 4 very efficiently.

Had hoped this England had put away the individualism that has brought us down in many tournament, but that penalty incident who took it in the end was all about a player and his own stats. Made worse by the fact it was the captain. Sad!

…I think he’ll be feeling plenty embarrassed enough.

I actually think he’s a very decent player & a top professional but that’ll be a moment he’ll be remembered for after he retires. It was very poor professionally & technically.

We've obviously had this happen before at club level with Mirallas and Richarlison and it never goes down well. I know who I'd rather have as a team mate.

I just dont think he has the aggression/drive that the best strikers have mate. Looked slightly relieved when slackjaw took the ball off him which to me says he doesn't back himself 100%.

Too much Birkdale not enough Kirkdale for me regardless of how improved he is - they'll be a glass ceiling on his development when he doesn't have the same natural instinct/confidence as the likes of Kane, Rom, Rooney etc.

Why is it? DCL is the recognised CF on the pitch - end of discussion.

Henderson takes his opportunity and takes it off him knowing full well he isn't one of the big boys who will give it him back like a Rooney would.

Im not saying DCL did right or wrong however for me he never shown enough steel or confidence in himself to keep hold of the ball and tell slackjaw to do one.

We don't have enough arrogant, confident players in our squad who stand up for themselves hence why we get done over by referees every season and let teams bully us on the pitch at Goodison.
