2020/21 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

You usually have a pretty solid take on the football happening at the club; even when it's not the popular opinion, but you know just as well as I; that outside of James Rodriguez, Dominic Calvert Lewin is the most talented footballer at the club currently. He has not yet fulfilled his immense potential and will require refining of his skill sets but the lad really is the least of our problems.

90% of the runs he make go unnoticed by the team, yet he continues to make them. The other 10% are supplied by defenders. IF Everton manages to secure a competent manager and bring in actual wingers capable of maintaining possession, stretching the field wide, and supplying crosses you'll see some wonderful top class football from DCL next year.

I think you're rightly upset with the management of the club. Now imagine your career success is dependent on that management like the footballers at the club as opposed to just your supporting interest. Be upset with the board, the chairman, the director, the prior managers, or one of the plethora of footballers that hide behind markers and point at others rather than presenting for the ball.

Dom is a top top lad all the way around (talent, intelligence, effort on the pitch, efforts in the community, with the media, as a teammate) and one of the only real positives about being an Everton supporter at the moment. Please don't go about contributing to negativity where it is not warranted.

- As someone who typically enjoys reading your takes on all things Everton.
I wish you'd have seen Lukaku for Belgium last night. He's the player that DCL must aspire to. Lukaku was better than him at his age too.

We don't have to look too far into this club's illustrious past in terms of attackers to know that DCL is way off being a player able to talk about being with us "for now".

One of a core of players who has played for every manager since Koeman but seems to escape the blame for our malaise. Very odd.

Same level of contempt for him as Gylfi, Davies, Keane, Pickford, Coleman, Holgate. The Poisonous Core.

What's wrong with a young lad, who's doing well in his career, having a bit of fun?

His form is going to plummet off a cliff now as he tries to stop cringing at your Soccer AM Henderson nickname
He's not having fun; he's categorising certain Everton fans and implying that they dont have a decent opinion on him or how worth because of their age.

My take on that is he KNOWS that Evertonians of a certain age know a cracking Everton forward when they see one, and they dont see it in him. THAT was implicit to that dismissal of them.

Mad some of the complaints aimed at him. I’m glad he wants champions league someday because if he didn’t I’d genuinely question his attitude and his self belief. Absolutely sure he’d love to play champions league with us.

was different with lukaku as every international break seemed to be some new comments, his agent making comments, his family making comments. The guy clearly thought he was too big for the club whereas with Calvert you can easily see how much love he has for the club, the fans, Ferguson etc for what’s been done for him.

Let's be fair now. DCL isn't a patch on Lukaku. He's a good lad, developing well, but let's not get carried away.

Has Lukaku learned to control a ball yet?

You’ve completely misread my post. I didn’t at any point suggest he’s as good as lukaku. Was referencing people saying he’s doing a lukaku which he isn’t.

So Dom got Cucked by Hendo and then goes on to give everton a back handed show of commitment.

Just take whatever klopp offers us for him and be done with the RS gimp.

Fall to his knees for hendo the real dominator. And giggle at Ev.

Just go.

If Everton had any sense they would sell DCL this summer whilst his stocks are high before he gets fully found out. If we had a decent replacement I’m not sure DCL would have played half the games he did last season.

Decent impact sub for the last 10 mins against certain teams.

So we should hate him cos he isn't Lukaku?

LOL

Lukaku was always destined for an elite club though.

DCL wouldn’t get into any top 4 team right now and doesn’t show enough quality on the ball to think he ever would. (Sub maybe but not starting)
