….i’ve posted DCL would’ve been a great option for City in the CL final. They try and score the perfect goal, they often come unstuck against a determined, well organised defence. DCL plays, he’s competitive with Rudiger and occupies both CBs.

I also think he’d have been better for Chelsea that their front man.

He’d definitely be on their radar & could’ve made a difference for City in that final. He’d be a great option for them in certain games.

I see what you mean, and I think DCL will get there soon, but for Chelsea, they already had a master in Giroud on the bench, and Man City I think just don't have that option, but wouldn't buy someone like DCL for an option only. Interesting though, wonder if Pep would ever want a target man type player.

If I was Chelsea manager I’d be looking at him. He’s exactly what they need, someone who will bag the goals and finish his chances

Why is it? DCL is the recognised CF on the pitch - end of discussion.

Henderson takes his opportunity and takes it off him knowing full well he isn't one of the big boys who will give it him back like a Rooney would.

Im not saying DCL did right or wrong however for me he never shown enough steel or confidence in himself to keep hold of the ball and tell slackjaw to do one.

We don't have enough arrogant, confident players in our squad who stand up for themselves hence why we get done over by referees every season and let teams bully us on the pitch at Goodison.

mate I’m not DCL biggest fan by any means but when the captain gets involved on the pitch you fall in line. We complained about it when richy moans and keeps moaning after Coleman or whoever takes it off him. Dom did the right thing he showed he wanted it and was willing to take it and then showed respect to the captain as he should, even tho the captain is a bell.

….would you think DCL is our most valuable asset?

Perhaps Richarlison might fetch more, but I would argue DCL is possibly our most valuable asset. It reflects he’s performed for Everton, it reflects he can make a step up, it reflects he could join a top club. I think that’s the reality.

Lukaku is a different type, DCL will never reach his goalscoring capability. Never. I watched a game at Goodison a few years ago v Man Utd. An aged Ibrahimovic went to war with our back four, he was magnificent running channels, holding the ball up. What a contrast with Lukaku, he might as well have been sat next to me. Never helped his teammates out, never put in a shift.

Lukaku is a terrific goalscorer, he didn’t last at United. I’d argue Cavani is a more effective striker than Lukaku. DCL offers something different to teams, he’d have been more use that day against United.
Richarlison is the more complete player than DCL.

Madrid will pay big for him, they wouldn't touch DCL with a bargepole.

Lukaku can play on the break and he's now playing with back to goal bringing others in to play and turning defenders, and he's becoming a predator in the box. Even when Martinez signed him he was well better than DCL (and Richarlison for that matter).

I dont see a better striker in Europe this season.

Lukaku disrespected us every time he went to play for Belgium and, let’s not forget, refused to come back for pre season the summer we sold him to United
Look at the pay back we got from him. If any other player wants to hand us that much value and then disrespect us they can do so with my blessing.

I see the GrandOldRevisionists are back up to their old tricks again about Lukaku.

He was a vastly better player than DCL at his age. It's not even close. In fact DCL is closer in playing similarity and quality to Rob Earnshaw than he is Lukaku
No revisionism dear Frandel, Lukaku was a fantastic player for us but its no secret he was talking about leaving, even 6 months into his loan, every time he went away with Belgium, gets a free pass. DCL makes it clear he wants to play in the CL some day, preferably with us, and he's made out to be a traitor

He was talking about leaving 6 months into his loan,.to then sign a perm contract 6 months later?

Wasn't it more his arl feller mouthing off than actually Lukaku himself?

He scored 25 league goals in his last season and went to a club playing in the champions League, I love Everton to bits but if I banged that many in for an average team I'd be thinking I'm better than this.

He was by far ( not even close either ) our best striker in the premiership era

DCL is nowhere near where Lukaku was.
Lukaku has always scored goals - DCL has had to work for it.

I do believe if DCL left now it would have a similar effect on us to when Lukaku left.
He’s that valuable to us

I think this logic is a bit flawed. If DCL hits 20 goals next season he's where Rom was. It doesn't matter that 3 years ago he didn't score as much.

I don't think he'll ever actually reach the level Rom did though. But he's really really good. Don't get it confused.
