Richarlison is the more complete player than DCL.

Madrid will pay big for him, they wouldn't touch DCL with a bargepole.

Lukaku can play on the break and he's now playing with back to goal bringing others in to play and turning defenders, and he's becoming a predator in the box. Even when Martinez signed him he was well better than DCL (and Richarlison for that matter).

I dont see a better striker in Europe this season.
I would ship Richarlison before dcl. Easier to replace

….it is encouraging that your recent record of Evertons most highly rated also includes Kieran Dowell & Ross Barkley.

It was only a month or so ago you wrote ‘Liverpool are out of the Champions League race, vault me if I’m wrong’ (they finished 3rd); to be followed a week later by ‘Burnley will smash Liverpool all over Turf Moor‘ (Burnley 0 Liverpool 3).

Always entertaining & good company but not to be taken seriously & certainly not a good judge when it comes to footballers and football.

You usually have a pretty solid take on the football happening at the club; even when it's not the popular opinion, but you know just as well as I; that outside of James Rodriguez, Dominic Calvert Lewin is the most talented footballer at the club currently. He has not yet fulfilled his immense potential and will require refining of his skill sets but the lad really is the least of our problems.

90% of the runs he make go unnoticed by the team, yet he continues to make them. The other 10% are supplied by defenders. IF Everton manages to secure a competent manager and bring in actual wingers capable of maintaining possession, stretching the field wide, and supplying crosses you'll see some wonderful top class football from DCL next year.

I think you're rightly upset with the management of the club. Now imagine your career success is dependent on that management like the footballers at the club as opposed to just your supporting interest. Be upset with the board, the chairman, the director, the prior managers, or one of the plethora of footballers that hide behind markers and point at others rather than presenting for the ball.

Dom is a top top lad all the way around (talent, intelligence, effort on the pitch, efforts in the community, with the media, as a teammate) and one of the only real positives about being an Everton supporter at the moment. Please don't go about contributing to negativity where it is not warranted.

- As someone who typically enjoys reading your takes on all things Everton.
We shouldn't need to wait until next season as we're not going to be giving him better wingers/midfielders than he'll have in the England team at the moment.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin 2020/21 Club & Country

25 Goals (16 PL)

1 Assist (0 PL)

4+ Penalties Won

Ended the season with 5 goals in his last 22 PL matches; 8.63 goals in 38 matches ~projected~
Started off the season with 11 goals in his first 11 PL matches; 38 goals in 38 matches ~projected~

In my earliest data model sets I was projecting a 20-40% drop off expecting at least 20+ goals & his drop off ended up being -77.27%

Having analysed all of his performances for Club & Country I registered at least 40+ separate goal scoring situations he failed to convert.
His inevitable drop off worried me all season.

…that is still a really impressive compilation, the doubters will say ithere’s no goals against Manchester City.

Fans of Real Madrid will watch it & post ‘make it happen, Carlo’ on their transfer thread.

Oh he looked great when actually scoring, but I was cringing going over all of the misses.
I will admit he did step up on many occasions, but he could've done much, much better with his clear-cut 1on1 chances.

YOU'RE BACK

YESSS

I think technically you are right on paper here, a versatile forward/wide man is more easy to come by than a #9 with a proven goal record in the PL. But what Richarlison offers us in graft and willingness to make things happen makes him the less sellable of the two for me.

The last 10 games was the only part of the season where he missed quite a few big chances. He missed a few bad ones against Palace, missed an absolute sitter from 4 yards against Sheff Utd. The period from January to March we failed to create enough for him.

It's mainly though his all round game which can improve. He generally relies on a big chance being created for him. He can do much more in terms of carrying the ball forward and running at defenders and he can look to improve how he makes a half yard to get a shot off. That assists total can also improve.

….he’ll miss chances, he’ll never be a Harry Kane or Lukaku finisher. The trouble with analysis of his goalscoring is that he offers a lot more to the team. A few games when we’ve been hanging on to a 1-0 he’s been invaluable to his teammates, running the channels and getting free kicks.

I wonder how many goals he’s stopped with clearing headers from opposition set pieces. He’ll score a decent quota but he’s not a goalscorer.

….he has got a shot on him like a mule, one will fly into the top corner from 25 yards but he rarely controls his finishes (aerially or with his feet). My favourite goal was actually the header in Gwladys St against the Reds as it did look controlled.

He should exploit his physical and aerial dominance more.

Shots fired!

@JimmyJeffers maybe we need a new PPV event!

Do you seriously, honestly think he's better than Kane?
