To think of selling the lad for £50m - the same price as Arsenal are apparently spending on Ben White - is ridiculous.

You don't have to be a scout. Watching the odd MOTD would give you an opinion of the type of striker you would like to replace our 20+ goal a season striker with.
Comparing him to Lukaku is pointless. We will be lucky if we have a player as good as Lukaku in the next decade. We couldnt find a replacement for him.

I don't think we could replace DCL with any striker in the premiership so watching motd isn't gonna get me very far is it. I'm not even saying he's terrible I'm just saying he's not as good as people make out.
I genuinely don't think their are many great strikers in the premiership at the minute and certainly none that come to us.
There are a few decent ones like DCL but no point selling DCL to bring in a "decent" player who's probably older anyway.
I think edouard at Celtic is a good young striker who will score goals wherever, just unsure if he could stay fit all season like DCL does.
That patson daka Leicester are signing is supposed to be absolutely quality isn't he ( only seen him play a handful of times so couldn't tell you myself )
Think bellotti is a better all round player than DCL
Then you'll have some good players at European clubs from different leagues but whether we could get any of them without the Carlo pull, probably not in most cases

But he is committed, he scores decent amount of goals and if we were to sell him he would only go to a more successful club.
Signings Edourard would be riskier, similar age - another 1 in to striker, but definitely playing down in class in each week.
Bellotti is older than DCL, less than a 1 in 2 striker
Neither of these strikers are likely match DCL
Unfortunately, if Leicester are offering the same package as us most players are going there these days. Have Trophies, European football and Wembley finals to show in very recent past.
I guessing that if DCL was playing for Newcastle and scoring what he is, and Everton were in for him, most fans would be creaming at the prospect.
