I think people think we can afford to have a striker who can never create a chance for himself in our struggling side. We can't. He does nothing else. If he's not scoring headers, he's generally not contributing. He is not a Gary Lineker - another player who depended on service to do anything - who when presented with the chance will, nine times out of ten, bury it. DCL's finishing - without the head - is mediocre. Even if we present him with chances on the ground, it's touch and go whether he will hit the target, let alone finish. He's just not as good as elements in our slightly hysterical fanbase declare him to be.

It's just the smirk he has when an attack breaks down or we scorn a chance. Something not plumb with this. No anger, aggression or even a hint of his sleeves being rolled up. I'd have rolled the dice with Rondon at 70 minutes as if he was still playing now he'd not have had a sniff.
His smirk drives me mad. I suppose it's probably an embarrassed reaction, but it certainly gives off an impression of not being too bothered which may not be the intention. I prefer Richarlison's anger at his own misses, although, I'll be honest, I suspect some of that is for show, too. In truth, we just want them burying their chances.

While we’re not supplying him with an abundance of chances, which can’t help, he doesn’t appear to be truly exerting himself.

I'm getting the feeling a change of club would be best for both parties. The game is full of players who have their brief moments in the spotlight. DCL may have had his last season. Missing that penalty against Brighton hasn't helped his cause.

£70 million

Come on Arsenal you know you want it.
Hes been a decent player in decent form for about 5% of hos everton career. I know he injured and been out a lot. But he was never going to be the type of number 9 to come back with bang.

I remember cahill was bagging the big important goals got injured for a good while and came back scored on his return and the game after. He was a big time player you can rely on that did it season after season. Dom is not.
