Strikers sole job is to score goals. Centre forwards not so much but strikers are only on the pitch to score goals. Lukaku is very good at scoring goals , until he is wearing a shirt that are aiming for the top 4 in England. Then he gets ripped apart for any little thing he does.

Ironically when he wore an Everton shirt , it was his own fans not rating him. Despite the , you know , goals he was scoring.

That's because nobody outside of Everton fans has so much as a passing interest in how Everton are getting on. They're not bothered if he's putting 10 goals a season past Bournemouth and Sunderland, while offering nothing in games where he can't just bulldoze his way through poor defenders or run into the kind of space that the better teams aren't afforded.

Playing for United and Chelsea comes with the sort of scrutiny that exposes a player's limitations, although to bring this back to DCL, I think he'd do OK at either of those clubs, since they don't move the ball as quickly as City or Liverpool.

I think I'd put Serie A at fifth out of the five top leagues now.

Great to watch, but the amount of auld gets still knocking around there is laughable.

DCL is worth want we value him, and I think we'll value him about what your saying, however I cannot stress that enough NO ONE will be pay 60m for DCL, and if they were stupid enough to do so we should snap their hands off.

Sold to Juve for £62million + add on's and was in the last year of his contract at Fiorentina (expired June 2023).

Wasn't in the last year of his contact was he, he had 18months left which you've just said yourself.

Well see who's chatting wham at the end of the season when your feller doesn't get a single offer close to what you think he's worth.

If you believe Lukaku should be spending his time tackling and winning the ball up the pitch then you have him confused for a midfielder.

Funny you should mention how many touches were made by Kane , given 3 of those touches were his team mates creating a chance for him to score. I was under the impression that the midfield play to the striker, so if they don't play to the striker , striker can't touch the ball.

Just a very odd thing to attack Lukaku for. When people pass him the ball, whether it's Everton, inter, united , Belgium etc, he scores goals. When you don't pass him the ball , the reaction is to criticise him for it?

Lukaku is going to be one of those players that will retire with a fantastic goal haul and for some reason only the English will not rate him.

518 passes....... if the passes were divided to 11 players then that means 47 touches each....... so i'll put it to you "how was Lukaku not in a position to receive the ball more than 7 times for a team that dominated possession" - you are aware that when your team has the ball you are meant to make space to receive the ball?

Now.... quite often players will not pass the ball to someone they don't trust with the ball.... kinda makes sense with Rom given he cant control the ball.

He is absolutely crap as a footballer is the answer you are looking for - he was marked tightly by their centre half and as we have seen, when this happens he becomes anonymous........ he has no intelligence in his movement. Kane scored his 3 goals because he had the smartness in his movement to get to the ball instead of the opponents.

The lukaku f.c fans have really taken this badly - not surprising. There have been some awful footballers to grace the premier league and he has taken less touches in 90 minutes than the lot of them.

This is just wierd.

A touch does not equate a pass. Players can take several touches before making a pass. Chelsea don't play one touch football.

Just bashing Lukaku for the sake of it saying players don't trust him. Like I said he will retire with hundreds of goals scored but people will just forget the goals. A 1 in two goal ratio which is fantastic for a striker but nobody trusts him.......

a touch means possession of the ball - be it a one touch pass or a dribble. If a player touches the ball 18 times before passing it, it is counted as one touch possession wise. He got on the ball 7 times - one being at kick off. FFS

Your eagerness to defend a player who spent more energy engineering a move away from our club than he did in the fa cup semi against united speaks volumes. He hasn't learned from this as he opened his big gob before this awful spell of gamers for Chelsea. He's an overrated arrogant oaf.... end of.
