He is very wasteful. Some strikers are like that. I think we'll have to accept that with DCL.

I suppose the upside of that is that if he ever did start slotting a higher percentage of chances he'd be snapped up by a CL regular outfit.

It's a fine line we tread in that respect.
Realistically I think Richarlison will leave next summer and DCL a year later unless we get into Europe.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a late bid for either this window.

ATM though I think only Richarlison would interest a CL place chasing team.

He's more passive these days, but still a handful by virtue of his size alone.

Fair to say that he should have buried the one-on-one, but cold-blooded finishing just isn't one of his strengths.

I agree, but I doubt we will let them go. We would want top dollar.

I think that the deal with Richarlison for the olympics is another year.

I also agree about DCL. Good, but perhaps not quite there yet. He would not be a punt for a CL team because he would cost so much. The only club I can see bidding is Spurs if Kane leaves.

Top class strikers don’t miss one on ones.

Yss, he’s vastly improved, but we’ll never push on unless we get an alternate or reach him to finish, and I feel that’s something that happens instinctively.

Deadly in the 6 yard box, but when he has to think he falls apart.

Calvet Lewin through on goal....oh predictably cos its not laid on a plate, he messes up. He will never be a top striker, to many of these crunch chances he misses

Best attempt at putting off a penalty taker I’ve ever seen

First chance at 2-1 is just bad luck and keeper got lucky when it stuck between his legs. The second one is just a poor finish. A natural scorer lifts that as the keeper goes to ground but he snatched at it.

He will keep scoring if he keeps getting into those positions but he can definitely improve his 1 v 1 shooting. The miss today was decision making more than execution which is a bit of a concern.

2 in 2. Will continue to be one of the first players on the team sheet through this season.

Give him the chances (and pens) and he will be hitting 20+ goals this season.

If we were a smart club with a long term plan, then this is exactly what should happen.

We're not though, so Richy will probably leave on a free after we refuse to sell and DCL will lose his value over the next 4-5 years playing for a crap club who constantly chops and changes managers, players and playing styles.

Selling Richy for 75-90M next summer and using the money to reinvest in 3-4 youngish players with high potential should absolutely be the plan. Rinse and repeat with DCL the following season. That's how you rebuild a club.

I know exactly where you are coming from, but the difficulty is that there isn’t as much money in football as there was. The European teams are all broke. I doubt anyone would pay that sort of money for a Richarlison. He is good but not top drawer. I think the same goes for DCL. Probably 60m max for either.

Peak value may be now.

So do we twist or stick?
