Top class strikers don’t miss one on ones.

Yss, he’s vastly improved, but we’ll never push on unless we get an alternate or reach him to finish, and I feel that’s something that happens instinctively.

Deadly in the 6 yard box, but when he has to think he falls apart.
What about when he is made to wait and think for several minutes before slotting home from 12 yards...

I didn't realise their keeper is 6ft7/8 that's a big lad rushing out for his 1 v 1 so no it wasn't a dead on bad miss.

A cooler finisher might have scored the left foot chance created by Iwobi. However probably only about 7 or 8 strikers in the World would definitely have scored. He's not that good at least not yet but we couldn't afford to bring in anyone of that calibre anyway.

By the the time DCL got to Iwobi's ball, the only real option was to flick it over him, so it was a difficult opportunity considering his size and how close they were.

For me, the ball from Gray at the front post was the easier opportunity (admittedly, it didn't look at it on first glance) as more power or position and it's in.

To be honest I have looked at the chances and he didn’t do anything particularly wrong. On a different day he could have had a hattrick.
Think that’s the fear with Dom, will those different days ever go the other way so he does get the hat tricks.
I certainly hope they do, but he needs to turn those opportunities into goals if he’s to lead us to any significant success.

I understand that sentiment, but those were not straightforward chances. There are other one on one situations whee I think he struggles. He is not a Harry Kane player and there is still room to improve, But I don’t think he could have done much differently yesterday.

First chance at 2-1 is just bad luck and keeper got lucky when it stuck between his legs. The second one is just a poor finish. A natural scorer lifts that as the keeper goes to ground but he snatched at it.

He will keep scoring if he keeps getting into those positions but he can definitely improve his 1 v 1 shooting. The miss today was decision making more than execution which is a bit of a concern.
Agree with this really.
