I do semi- agree with this hence why i pointed out, Ancelotti had him saving himself for when the ball got to the penalty area!
I just think when needs must, he can offer more! When was the last time we saw him dominate a centre halve, outjump a defender, or put one of them under pressure!
August

This is just waffle. They are pro-athletes, they are life long competitors and winners, they don't enjoy losing or playing badly. It is a myth imo
Is it a myth? I've seen players down tools for several teams. Then the manager is sacked and suddenly, they're back to playing and winning.

Can you honestly say that all those players are leaving everything on the pitch? That they're doing absolutely everything to win? Because I'm watching something very different. Backing out of tackles, not chasing things down. I've watched teams walk through us. They're a disgrace.

You can see the frustration and anger on certain players faces. The ones who are giving their all, only to be let down by their team mate walking around.

It's not a myth. Some players want to win more than others. Our opponents want to win more than us nearly every week.

Mentality is enormous in top level sport. It's what seperates the good from the average and the great from the good. Calling it a myth is daft.

maybe this is whats screwing inside his head. I loved ancelotti bcs he gave our players very strict and simple instructions. DCL role was stay inside the box and hit the one or two chances you get a game. Now he needs to be much more and it shows. He just jogs around the pitch. Forlorn. He needs to go.

I'd rather have someone on the pitch whose focus is working hard and helping the team win rather than picking out a new handbag. Harsh maybe, he's had some injuries - fair enough, but there is no blood, sweat, and thunder there.

Lad needs to have a look at Wilshere washed up and playing in Denmark for an appreciation of what the ghost of Christmas future might look like.
Is right lad!

Needs to spend less time trying dresses on and more time scoring goals!!

Pull you’re head out your fanny and get on with it!!

Of all the pitiful players we have who probably couldn't give two flying ones what happens to us, Calvert-Lewin should be the one player leaving absolutely everything he has on the field for us. He was given so many opportunities that he didn't deserve that allowed him to become the player he is today, which I still don't think is a good one but he is an England international and apparently some other clubs want him so there's that.

I'm sure he wants to leave at the end of the season, which is fine, but I will hold him in contempt for all eternity if he continues to walk about the pitch completely uninterested in whether the club that made him survives or dies.

given all the homophobic accusations thrown at me lately by all the woke snowflakes on here, I guess it's ironic when i say: this is not a bloke I want beside me in the trenches.

Correct, but he also

Needs to show he’s bothered and interested, he just looks as though he thinks he’s off somewhere else soon, and based on this season’s “form” (when he’s actually played!) he might be very disappointed!

Replied to someone else who said this saying he's almost certainly following instruction from the manager.

Before Ancelotti he'd be all over. Ancelotti told him to stay in the middle and I suspect Lampard is doing likewise. The issue though is fitness, confidence and the 3 top providers/chance creators in Digne, Rodriguez and Sigurdsson no longer play.

Calvert-Lewin needs chances creating more than most, but who is creating them?

Looking good Dom

I do wonder if you get the likes of Craig Dawson thinking ‘There is no way I’m going to let a guy who carries a handbag bully me on that pitch today’.

Who would you want beside you in the trenches from our pitiful lot..probably only Allan for me

Christian Erikson recovered from being dead quicker than DCL and his quad.

Really hope he's not dialling it in ABC protecting the injury prior to his big move away, we can't afford passengers.

He’s not a great player by any means but when the club forces James, Digne out and we lose Sigurdsson, that’s our top 3 creators from last season. Is it any wonder the lad can’t get going. As people have said, ancelotti wanted him to be like (a pound land) inzaghi, just be in the box for the one or two chances that will come his way. We don’t create anything these days.
