2021/22 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

He's good enough on his day to pull us out of this mess. Think back to those headers v spurs and the vermin last season. Brilliant goals.
I think he's lacking confidence and l think 1 goal would transform him. I know it's hard to believe that someone who dresses like that can't be confident but that's what I see with him

If he does ever get to 20, you'll immediately start seeing him described as a 30-goal-a-season striker.
That’ll be if he ever moves to a club the media likes. I can see it now: “the 30 goal a season striker is a fantastic human being because he took his hat off when he met Gareth Southgate. He’s keen to wash off the stain of financial cheating dive mastering toilet destroying second club in their city basket case Everton who brutally sacked a world class manager in Benitez who won a big game 20 years ago”

With him I don't think that confidence is quite the issue. For me, it's his fitness. He's somebody who relies on his athleticism to give him the edge. Not being at the peak of his powers makes him a very ordinary player, because unfortunately he's not gifted with technical or mental skills in abundance. Surprised at people writing him off. At top fitness he's a very good forward. With a fully fit DCL to call on all season we wouldn't be anywhere near the mess we're in.

If he hasn't been fit enough he shouldn't have been picked. I agree with you though.him being anywhere near top form would have made all the difference. Still could

The big man will terrorise defenses from Reading to Rotherham next year.. can see him striding into the Aesseal New York Stadium on a cold wintry night in November head to toe in Mink fur with his diamond encrusted Nikeys dangling by their pearl laces from his Gucci clutch.

I’ve heard those rumours, but several ITK accounts have said how hard working he has been and how devastated he is to have been injured for most of the season.

We have missed him. Big time. He is usually guaranteed to get around 20 league goals a season and his hold up play is usually excellent.
He's never scored 20 league goals in a season

I think his bodies knackered.

I’m not saying it’s gonna be permanent, but I doubt we’ll see the Calvert Lewin of yesteryear for the at least the rest of the season. The fact his thigh keeps going ping means we’re no longer getting the relentless athlete he once was on the pitch.

That is by far his biggest strength. Apart from that though the rest of his game isn't all that. I will say this though. If he'd stayed fit and we got good enough service to him, which i think was benitez plan with the signings of gray and townsend, we wouldnt be getting relegated.
If we do drop. He will be sold and i see Ellis Simms up front for Everton next year.

From being certain he would be leaving for 40-50 million regardless of whether we stay up I can now see him being the one “name” player we hold onto if relegated.

With the problems he’s had we surely aren’t getting close to that money, unless a deal has already been agreed. If all we can get is someone taking a punt at 20-25 million then we have to consider whether it’s essential we sell (and he reportedly isn’t among the top wages at the club)- if the medical dept think they can get him back to fitness next season then 20 odd million is nothing compared to the value of his goals getting us back to the PL, and with a good season, even at championship level his value gets back close to where it was.
