County Durham is a lovely place to live mind you. I've worked all around the North East for a spell. Newcastle, Sunderland, Washington and whenever I drove through Durham I always was impressed.

That's why Newcastle, much like ourselves, have to be really smart with recruitment. When you can't offer the whole package of instant success and capital city lifestyle then you have to make sure you are targeting players who are the right fit and aren't swayed by those things.

Aye it’s a problem. Personally think the NE is one the best parts of the country to live but it’s not easy for players and wives. Can still remember Dyer, Bellamy and the likes going round town thinking they were untouchable.

Roy Keane, when managing Sunderland, got a few shillings to spend but found quite a few players didn't want to move there because of Wags. Needless to say He was stunned

Chris Woods will probably be offered as part of the deal, he was a signing made to keep them up but not someone they want to keep long term.
