Don’t think it was a coincidence that he stopped scoring as soon as our 2 best crossers of the ball left (James/Digne). On top of an injury that was horribly mishandled by Benitez, he was hardly fit on the pitch until the last few weeks. Before that he’d scored in every game up until the injury. I still get frustrated by the lack of converting 1v1s but he’s proven himself to be a goal scorer when fit and with service. For what it’s worth, I don’t think he’ll leave but if Newcastle do come in with a massive bid (and that’s what it will take), then I’ll happily see our 1.5mil investment pay handsomely.

He was top scorer in the prem until he got injured and was not fully fit until the last 2-3 games of the season, at which point he scored the goal that kept us up.

I mean he’s not wrong is he? Doesn’t look like we’re going to receive any serious bids for him so I fully expect him to stay.

The two early season penalties and the one bundled in off the keepers arse from a yard out are doing some heavy lifting here.

Even in his best season, he has long spells doing nothing in front of goal. He’d be much easier to replace than Richarlison who actually makes things happen himself.

I think he misses Digne, Rodriguez and latterly Townsend.

Good. Let's flog him to them for a brillion big ones and get our own back for some of the dross they have fleeced us for over the decades.
If DCL is to fail by being in a side that doesn't suit him, then cash in. Sod flogging him to the Skunks though as he might do well there.
