It seems to be £50mil - £1mil to Watford = £49mil.

Then £10mil potentially in hidden add ons.

Not sure why its listed at £60mil...£70mil ive not seen.
I agree mate , there is no way Levy has paid £60 million knowing that we had to get the money by the end of the month.
Levy is a master of negotiation while we were represented by an overweight Luvvie from the theatre's.
It would have been like matching Mohammed Ali against Bennie from crossroads.

How is it a no brainer to sell the only remaining goalscorer in the squad? May as well just accept relegation now than do that.

The lad Broja is just nowhere near good enough to fill the huge whole in our squad that would exist if we lost DCL on top of Richarlison. I don't get the hype with him.

The point would be to buy a number of players for the whole team. DCL barely scored for us last season and although has proven to be a good player, he’s never worth £60m on last season’s showing.

If we were to replace him just with Broja, then I’d agree with you but again the point would be “sell Rich and DCL, buy a number of good players including attackers”.

The only reason I could see to justify selling him this window would be if there are still big concerns over his injuries. If we think he has recovered, then it would be crazy to let him go.
Yeah, I think a big part of any decision is the long term prognosis from the medical staff and I’m sure they’ll be keeping a close eye this week. We’ll never be privy to any of it but if we do cash in it’ll almost certainly be a factor.

I don't agree with this though for a couple of reasons
even if they didn't have the best seasons, RIchy and DCl are integrated and with some tweaks and better tactics and players around them, they would always do better. Bringing in a 4-5 players for the transfer fee you get from RIchy & DCL is not that realistic, because £20m players are either young and untried, or maybe not that good, and might need time to get better and improve. I don't know if we have time to work on development with our new transfers.
I would rather take risks on our academy players + a couple of young transfers, and 1-2 new 'established' players who improve us straight away. i know it's all fantasy, hopefully Lampard's coaching takes care of a lot of improvements for a start.

Full pre-season and fit again, DCL will bang in 20+ goals for us next year.

Concern of course is his injury.

However, we build a team with him as focal point, some midfielders who can in fact pass and cross a ball is vital.

I agree, if we let him go I think that would do me in as far as support goes. If we do not get the players we want and need plus stuck with the deadwood I think next season is going to be extremely difficult.

This guy made me eat my words, he has improved every season apart from last year where there are a lot of factors that contributed to a poor season.

He looked sharp towards the very end of the season and if has a full pre season and we get some creativity into the side Im sure he will flourish.

His improvement under Ancelotti was great. He used to run the channels all the time and do nothing much more, but once he started getting in the box as a first thought, he improved dramatically imo. If we can get him in there this season and give him a good amount of supply, he'll be golden.

25+ next season if we give him footballers to play with.

A fully fit Calvert Lewin is a lot better than Jesus IMO.

Haalands real fee is a lot higher mate, 100m plus and huge wages. Nunez has gone for 75m and.has had 1 good season in a league outside of the top 5 leagues. Vlahovic is in Italy, right? Again not much history if their strikers coming in and doing well here.

I can see why Newcastle would be stupid enough to pay 60m. They paid 25m for Chris Wood.

Crucially none of the above would go to Newcastle as well. DCL will.

We should obviously take the 60m offer and run. Theres no guarantee he can get fully fit again.

I was thinking the other day though, how stupid Arsenal were to give for Jesus over DCL. DCL gives you a lot more.
I don't think this will age well.

Jesus is quality.
