But he isn't is he. He can't even finish a simple one on one. Our fans have some mad delusion about our players. I don't know how we're not fighting for Europe with some of the players we have.
He can and has finished one on ones.

Literally, the first goal in this shows him slotting a one on one.

I have no delusion regarding DCL, hes a great player and has shown that in the past and will show that in the future.

We arent fighting for Europe cos we have a League Two midfield.

Football isn't the 80's anymore mate. Full backs used to stay in defence, now they need to be up the pitch and back all game. Players need to be able to do more than one thing now.

Hold up play top notch, aerial ability top notch, pressing solid, good pace, great strength, very good first touch, season under ancelotti he showed massive improvement in finding space in the box

But nah "he's just a big lump'

Errrm under Carlo mate we were fighting for europe most of the season with pretty much the exact same squad we had last season.

Dom won’t score 10 goals this season with what he has around him and the players around him won’t score 5 goals from what he nods down.

The argument regarding his talent is utterly futile when you have zero midfielders who can pass a ball, zero wingers who can cross a ball and one fullback who can maybe put a cross in.

In the league he scored 13 and 16.

10 of the 13 were between 7th December - 1st March.
11 of the 16 were between 13th September - 5th December.

We can all play with stats and dress them up. He's not a consistent striker. Other factors do come into play, did we supply him in the same way all season? Does he run out of energy after a spell?

There's no doubting that he can find the net, when supplied perfectly. But my major worry (and this isn't Dom's fault) is that without the perfect assist, he's never going to grab a game and take control himself. The club should know this and have had a player who can do this.

The thing is though mate, most strikers score in batches.

I'd love a striker to score at 10 in 13, or even 11 in 16 across a season, but that is Salah levels. We are never going to afford that player, and we are never going to make enough chances for that player.

Outside of Lukaku, I honestly cant think of another striker that has got back to back seasons of 13+league goals for us in my lifetime. I'm not saying hes perfect, but honestly we could do a lot worse.

I've always been on the Dom fan club, but he has a presence when he plays and is playing well. Defenders will drop 5 yards deeper when hes on the pitch.

As someone else said here, in that Newcastle game, half fit, he makes a big difference. Same in the Leeds league game. He didnt have a brilliant game, but his power, size etc just occupies centre backs.

Pep apparently loved him as a young player, and you can see why.

It's no surprise to me at all, that the season he is injured is the one we nearly go down.

In 2015/16, lukaku didn't score in the last 9 games of the season.

Sounds like the sky's the limit next season with this lad in the side.

That's the spirit.....

Nah mate, he's gash, no link up play, can't finish, no touch, slow, lazy, just a big lump...

In his final season, we finished 8 points off the CL places, with no fans at Goodison.
Won most of the away matches because Keane defended deep, did not have to pass the ball out from the back, and had no fans to harass him.

Last season we were decimated with injuries and forced to play him almost every game, the fans were back and his fragile ego could not handle some home truths.
