Last year picked up a bad injury

This somehow means he’s made of glass

Not just one bad injury last season though was it? He was fit by Xmas/NY and then picked up several other knocks, same as now. Hopefully nothing serious like.

Wouldnt pay too much attention to years ago though. Didn't gbamin have a good injury history prior to joining us?

He's had a bad 12 months now looking like a bad 18 months and is continually picking up knocks and niggles. I hate to say it but he is definitely looking like he caught the glass legs virus off of Delph.
And its always a major concern, especially when you really injure your quad. The knock on effect to the rest of your body is amazing, down to simple things like balance which puts more pressure on the other side of your body.

I think the only thing I read was a freak injury, so it could be nothing to do with the previous injury. If he returns and starts missing games regularly then yes, I'd agree it's gonna be an issue.

But if he wasn't rushed back last year by a fat odious pig who was more concerned with his own well being then he'd more than likely be fine

The recurring injuries are definitely a concern, pretending otherwise is just being obtuse really. It doesn’t mean he’s finished or will never get over it but it’s undoubtedly starting to get the stage where you have to consider that it’s going to be an ongoing issue.

Gbamin couldnt get 5 minutes together after his quad, DCL was said to be in fine shape and this injury is nothing to do with his quad.

Yes mate, it'll be reported as that obviously, and DCL looked back to himself for about 2 games last season post injury, the rest he didn't not just look like he wasn't match fit - he looked like he was still nursing an injury.

So a previously very sturdy player has an injury, then is rushed back gets a horrific injury, then after returning something else goes more minor - then preseason he's needed to be rested as a precaution - plays the next game, then breaks down with an injury in training after that.

But yes it's bad luck he'll get over it, and fine shape, yup he looks like a physical specimen no doubts - but show me any physical thet can show a player us now injury prone, answer there isn't one. even

Here's the thing mate, after that type of injury, players seem to get the 'freak' injury thing an awful lot more

Gbanim I believe had a freak injury.

I really like DCL as a bloke, but the ultimate cause of all this now is his own stupidity and negligence when breaking his toe

Toe ? Where's this one come from ? Thought it was his knee ?

He scored the goal which kept us up, so not going to give him stick, but worrying that he can’t get through pre season without picking up another injury. Also means he can’t realistically now be sold.

Reckon he will play 15 games max all season.

I'm not denying that mate, because it happens all to often. Quads and hamstring injuries are the biggest killers for footballers, i'm more than aware.

I replied to this thread to say basically 2 things; 1, he's not injury prone as some were making out. With the exception of last year, he's averaged 35 games a season; 2, I'm just waiting to see comes out of the club with regards to how it was sustained and how he progresses over the coming weeks.

None of this deters from the fact the club as brought this on themselves by going into a season with 1.5 (coz big Sal is half player) strikers; which in my opinion is the biggest concern
