2022/23 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

And therein is the problem: FL talks so highly of him, praises his quality and says how fully behind him he is, it's basically making clear that he is automatic first choice and anyone else is just filling in when he's not available. Unless it's just lip service in the media (which I doubt) it was a major rookie mistake to put all the eggs in the Dominic Calvert-Lewin basket. A January replacement is absolute priority.
Yep. Think FL has to forget about him as the first choice. He has to move on and get in players he feels will do a job for him. If he continues to think DCL will be ready in a few weeks / few months then that will be the death knell. We have to move on and look forward without DCL hogging FL's mindset as DCL has proven unreliable due to injury and getting up to speed

Yeah you'd like to think so, but I get the impression DCL is the hill Lampard might chose to die on. If a first choice striker isn't brought in (not just another backup forward) it will surely cost him his job before the season's end.

I have little doubt that some World Cup strikers (not the top ones of course) are being lined up for bidding in January. Otherwise I think we would have heard by now from the media if we were after any Championship strikers.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin played right back, right mid, made load of sub appearances. In those 6 years.
The trouble with Dominic Calvert-Lewin is his ability to stay fit, not his goals per min ratio over the last 3 years
He played one half of football as a right wing back.

A Main new forward is what we need, no more relying on Lewin hoping he can get past more than 2 games, this problem has gone on for well over a year, and he has not been the same even when he has been in the team, it's on his mind

By the time he’s match fit, regained his sharpness, adjusted his game, started to trust his body and all those other recovery phrases, we’ll be relying on blue flares and loud shouting to get us out of the bottom 3.

No sign of a set back, but my god, it’s such a shame for the lad. Even his niggles turn into 3 month layoffs.
