2022/23 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Andy Carroll was an absolute beast in the air. Even when he was a crock and at the end of his career he could come in and dictate a match.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin just really isn't a good footballer. He had a spell where he scored goals off his back and whatnot. He just isn't good.
I could have picked numerous injury prone forwards tbf. Which was more my point than a direct playing style comparison.

He's really, really not.

Not a natural finisher, has a decent header but lacks the movement to get in between

Not particularly pacey

Doesn't have a powerful strike

Just don't rate him don't believe he's premier league level

After that lengthy injury to his quad he just doesn't seem anywhere near the same speed

Also seems more clunky since that too

Yeh he’s definitely not the same player. Can’t blame him, those are some bad injuries for his game. Shame, he used to be a nightmare for defenders. Always remember a game vs Arsenal years back when he almost got both their centre halves sent off.

It is a shame. But we can all see that he's not up to scratch, crazy how the club are determined to stick with him instead of bringing someone in

Massive shame. Just as a footie fan not even an Everton fan. Injuries look to have really got into his head as well. Still love him of course.
I know people blame injuries but I don’t know if it’s managers. I reckon ancelotti changed his game. Told him to just be a fox in the box and his job is just to score goals. The two managers who have followed have just carried on with that.

Be interesting to see how he plays under dyche(if we get him).
