2022/23 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Its a weird one, the first week was crazy intensive and Dyche saw fit to start him against Arsenal.
He was hooked the second we went ahead.
He must have looked good in training but pulled something during the game.
Some sort of timeline update during the Arsenal presser would be great.
Cant believe I'm putting all my eggs in the Dominic Calvert-Lewin basket but here we are.had his hamstring scanned after that game ....
DCL had a scan on his hamstring, which had tightened straight after the Arsenal game .....

Is just when you see both maupay and simms both not good enough imo, agree with his form injuries is hard to say that what you have said is wrong. Is just that he is the only option for me like the arsenal game he has the most chance to fit the style the best. But after this season we need to replace him is clear he can not be first choice anymorw
He barely makes a blind bit of difference to this team. Why people continue to mither themselves with his absence I have no idea.

We'll sink or swim without this feller. Just forget him.

Strap him up do whatever to get him out there, I fear if he doesn't play and perform for a run of games we go down. Criminal this has happened two seasons on the bounce!

to be fair, hasnt dyche come out and say they arent sure whats wrong with him and thats why they are going to the l;enghts of checking his matress etc?

deffo one of those players who wont play when they feel the slighest thing
Mattresses matter. When Snail Keane was debilitated by homesickness, in an attempt to ameliorate his affliction, didn't his mum send him the mattress from his boyhood bedroom in the old family home? I think I read this tidbit on this very forum.

Have they said what his current injury is?
It's his hamstring - the issue he played with v Arsenal, which Dyche described as 'high risk, high reward'.

I was told around the time of the derby the rough timeline was 2-3 weeks.

He's not 'injured' so to speak, it's just tightness and soreness and they're not going to push it.

Was playing with a broken the start of last year.

With him against Arsenal we had 12 shots on goal; without him against Leeds and Villa we had 15 shots on goal.

He doesn't score often, so I really dont see how we're vastly disadvantaged without his presence.

He would have scored at least two of the four - the header - plus the shot Maupay fluffed - probably gone home with the match ball all those crosses in the first half - that was the difference they had a no 9 we did not - Maupay is not a no 9 ....
I disagree. He cant efficiently and consistently work outside the box AND get into goal scoring positions. 6 goals in his 27 games.

Obviously he'd be welcomed back, but the issue is that he cant or wont return, so... 🤷‍♂️
