Dyche should just come out and say he expects him to be out for the season due to injury. It would put an end to any further speculation about if he's fit for the next game, when he's back, etc, and would give Dyche a lot of sympathy from the fans and would remove any blame from him for our impending relegation. Should Lewin get over whatever issues he's currently suffering, then it's a bonus and he can be eased back in.

Or we just go with the mindset I have of he's out till he's not and move on. Not sure why everyone always needs answers.

Would love him to get fully fit but can't see it , sometimes your body breaks down and I'm hoping not but could be the problem for the rest of his footballing days .

Unfortunately for Dominic Calvert-Lewin his body has let him down. Nothing can be done about that and it's not his fault. We all knew the warning signs were there yet our board did nothing. The hate for the lad is uncalled for.

In general, the hate for players who get injured is horrible. As if it's his fault, or a lack of effort. In his case, we know he works hard, tries hard, does his best, so it's something he needs help with. He needs even more support at times like this.

He's injured.

He got a bad one a few games into last season where he was told it would impact his career going forward and have to be managed.

It's why Rafael and the medical staff fell out as he wanted how he should be treated.

Will be back after Forest apparently, but it's something that will always impact him.

Nothing sinister behind it. Just one of them

Dyche has stated he is not rushing him back as it has been the case in the past

After what he posted about his mental health at the end of last season, it seems likely that this is what is holding him back. Just speculation.

Like Sancho, I hope he is getting the right support and advice.
Honestly, if he's already struggling with mental health, I think he's at the absolute worst club he could be at. Seeing his mate literally chased down the road (and out the club) isn't going to have helped

We don't play 4/4/2 which makes the signing of Maupay nonsensical.
Maupay brings so little to the table that our only other senior striker Calvert Lewin has to shoulder the burden.

I know mate, why I didn't understand your point that Calvert-Lewin has to carry Maupay. I thought you meant on the pitch. I think a Maupay in and around Calvert-Lewin would be pretty useful.

I don't think Maupay was ever bought as a replacement for Calvert-Lewin, it's why we were still chasing Broja in that window.

Elephant in the room: if he's struggling with mental health, it's not that he's at the worst club he could be at, it's more he's in the worst industry. Whether people want to admit it or not, top level sport is as much to do with mental fitness as physical fitness. If a sportsman suffers from chronic mental illness, that is likely to be hugely debilitating. He needs to get whatever help he needs. But we need to be honest with ourselves and start treating mental health in the same way we treat physical health. Players careers often end through physical injury and illness. The same can happen with mental illness.

Bottom line: the club needs to move on. His return would be a bonus at this point, but he cannot be relied on for whatever reason.

We have no idea what procedures are in place to support through mental health, but his pay makes no difference to whether he needs support or not.
No it doesn’t but if he’s unavailable through mental health support him 100% but don’t be paying him his full wages let him go on the sick or will he sue us saying we messed up his mental health EFC definitely added to my issues.
