So you're suggesting those with mental health issues should have their pay cut?

Interesting.
Depends on the sickness and absence policy. At my current job, and if I had been employed with them for the same number of years DCL, I'd get 3 months full pay and three months half pay.

How is punishing Dominic Calvert-Lewin, by reducing his income, supporting him 100%?
Well if it was me or you exactly the same would happen we would get statutory sick pay unless of course like myself you’re self employed and then you’re screwed and either have to drag yourself out of bed or literally don’t eat or pay your mortgage I’m sure he’d get by without it.

. In his case, we know he works hard, tries hard, does his best,
One thing I'd never do is jump on a lad with mental health issues, I've lost a mate over it and it's a horrible sickness. However, DCL absolutely does no do his best when he's played, he got booed off against Brighton and times before it because he was just strolling around with next to no effort, let's get behind the lad and hope he overcomes any demons he might have, but let's no make out when he plays he's been playing out of his skin, he's generally been awfull recently, and I include his effort in that.

He was protecting his body after some awful injuries. If you play sport, you know you play within yourself when coming back from injury.

I disagree, not match fit or not whenever your on the pitch you put in 110% until you physically can't. I've played footy all my life and that's how I've always gone about it.

Injuries hamper people at times, and no doubt at times he's been carrying this, but overall I could count on one hand times hes put a propa shift in over the last 2 seasons

I can’t think of any times bar the last few games where he hasn’t put in an absolute shift and led from the front.

But doesn't that sort of contradict what you're saying? The mental health issues might have a bearing on how he performs on the pitch, but even if you leave that aside, and don't agree that's fair enough, but I don't think just running around as much as he can - getting in as many metres as possible, is the best way to play tactically for him. his best season has come from Ancelotti tweaking how he makes his runs and finds the right position. Basically 'clever goal hanging' you might call it, but still, that's what we needed from him, challenging the opposition defenders physically, and finding that those little spaces in the box. He's not ever going to drop deep, run into midfield and make something happen. But dropping wider, and being clever with his positioning would be a better measure of how he's playing. Hopefully he can come back to that in the near future

True, but that's not the industry he works in and reducing his pay wouldn't be showing him 100% support (which was the point I was making).
I'm sure you probably didn't mean it, but your post does have a 'feel' of the "snap out of it and pull yourself together" attitude many people adopt when it comes to mental health.

No absolutely not I’m very aware what he’s going through but it’s more ffs Everton again I want players that play especially in this day where the money is ridiculous he’s a average player earning £5.2m a year obviously before tax mental health affects all walks of life doesn’t matter who you are I’m just fed up of us being in this position and he’s another one adding to it along with the majority of the wasters in the squad.

Honestly, if he's already struggling with mental health, I think he's at the absolute worst club he could be at. Seeing his mate literally chased down the road (and out the club) isn't going to have helped

That's true actually. But I have a lot of expectations on Dyche, that he's clever and sensitive enough to handle this.

Absolutely agree that his best form has come when he just plonked his arse on the box and got on the end of things, but we had players to allow him to do that under Carlo, now we haven't, same as last season so he's had to alter his game which means more effort.

I don't expect him to be sprinting around the pitch like a madman for 90 mins, but you can't tell me in some of the games over the last 2 years hes left it all on the pitch, he absolutely hasn't, he's jogged around, not closed down, not ran for balls, half arsed jumped for headers etc etc.

Re his mental health, it might have an affect no one's knows but him, however he's had games ie the palace game where his was excellent his mental health wasn't questioned then, it's only questioned when he's poor? Works two ways doesn't it.
