Ah fair enough he's had a bad time of it, still not using that as an excuse for him to miss as many games as he has, the manager doesn't even know what's wrong with him, hasn't got the mentality.

Also, don't know why you feel the need to do that with the bellend/idiot shouts la, in reality you wouldn't act this hard in person so don't do it online mate, bad troll behaviour init.

I would do it in person. Not sure why you think I wouldn't.

back on topic, DCL obviously has matters that aren't in the public domain, there will be good reasons for that that also aren't in the public domain, people in the know have his best interests in mind, we want him back as soon as we can so lets support him and he'll be back when he's ready. No sooner and we will not know when that is until it happens.

That’s not obvious at all. He may just feel he is physically injured. And I say that as a Calvert Lewin skeptic.

If he has mental health issues he wont get support for that, look at Keane, he gets hounded for being mentally weak

If we are down with games left to play, he will appear. Getting the impression he doesn’t have the mental resilience to handle the pressure in this league when somethings on the line.

I hate to say it, but sport is, essentially, about survival of the fittest. Any weakness, physical or mental, will be feasted on by the competition. That's the nature of sport. I have sympathy for anybody suffering from mental health issues, but it's going to be hard to perform on the sporting stage in those circumstances.

Let's face it, it's hard to go to work with depression. Makes a job almost impossible. Imagine what it must be like to have to face 40,000 people every week.

Playing games needs to be part of contracts and provide the bulk of it, might actually see more player perform and not care if they are sat on the bench or injury table.
Not sure any player (or there agent) would entertain signing a contract that was based on them being fit and playing. i would argue i cant be penalised if someone does a horror tackle on me and im out for months. Maybe some sort of appearance bonus would be OK, but no way it would make up a significant part of their salary.

This is getting slightly silly now, I think. We shouldnt push him to play if hes not capable, and we shouldnt bash on him for it. But my god are we wasting a lot in wages because of these issues he are having. Not DCLs fault, I dont see him as one of these players that doesnt want to play, but it is still affecting the club. We dont have much money to spare, yet spank out 5m a year on a player we cant play most of the time. Idk how this works in England or the PL, but is there any sort of governmental compensation here? In Norway, if I get injured or sick, my place of work would pay my salary the first two weeks, then the government would take over so my lack of productivity while still getting paid doesnt impact the business itself too much. Is there anything similar in the PL? Im guessing Id know about it by now if such a thing exitsed, but it would be real dope if it did.
Either way, best wishes to Dom. Mental issues are sadly a lot harder to deal with than a hamstring injury.
