This is getting slightly silly now, I think. We shouldnt push him to play if hes not capable, and we shouldnt bash on him for it. But my god are we wasting a lot in wages because of these issues he are having. Not DCLs fault, I dont see him as one of these players that doesnt want to play, but it is still affecting the club. We dont have much money to spare, yet spank out 5m a year on a player we cant play most of the time. Idk how this works in England or the PL, but is there any sort of governmental compensation here? In Norway, if I get injured or sick, my place of work would pay my salary the first two weeks, then the government would take over so my lack of productivity while still getting paid doesnt impact the business itself too much. Is there anything similar in the PL? Im guessing Id know about it by now if such a thing exitsed, but it would be real dope if it did.
Either way, best wishes to Dom. Mental issues are sadly a lot harder to deal with than a hamstring injury.

No

Let's face it, it's hard to go to work with depression. Makes a job almost impossible. Imagine what it must be like to have to face 40,000 people every week.
I think you meant to type "experts' there.

Goodison, and a whole host of Everton fora are filled with medical experts and sports psychologists.

If you want the real inside track on what's really going on, check twitter....the real brains trust hang out there.

He's not said he's missed a single game due to depression though.

People need to stop making things up tbh

Not sure any player (or there agent) would entertain signing a contract that was based on them being fit and playing. i would argue i cant be penalised if someone does a horror tackle on me and im out for months. Maybe some sort of appearance bonus would be OK, but no way it would make up a significant part of their salary.
Yes that’s the problem never going to happen but it would definitely make a difference to performances and these young kids coming through making a load of money then becoming not that bothered because they never need to work another day in their life

If he was out just for mental health reasons, it would be already out there. It would help to stop the abuse he is already getting for being unavailable.
When Keane and Lennon were suffering it was out there, when Dom was suffering the other season it was out in the media.

It’s also not his fault that we are desperate for him to play……plenty of the so called big clubs have their more valued players on the sidelines for considerable periods of time, without any abuse, but because our BoD are absolutely sh1t at directing the club in this game we call ‘togger’, players are chastised by some weird sections of the social media community because we as a club are that desperate for forward options.
