Very poor, im sure excess wealth causes more mental health issues than solve them. In any case if he has mental health struggles we should support him.the same as if he announced he had cancer. They are both serious health issues that no one has control over irrespective of whether you think money solves all issues
Complete lack of understanding and a very poor take

Wow, what a strange opinion. You would be miserable for money..nowt stranger than folk.
£70,000 per week may be little or not comfort for someone who is in a deep and dark place. I'm not saying Dom is, but if that's the situation he needs supporting.

Let's not ignore some key pieces of information: suicide is the biggest cause of death in men under the age of 50 and around 3/4 of all suicides are men.

This may not be about someone being miserable, as they put it.

Spot on!

It’s the same over and over in here.

Armchair experts lacking in empathy slamming him without any understanding of what he’s going through.

The simple truth is none of us know the extent of his mental health problems. But why you wouldn’t give a guy who has admitted to struggling the benefit of the doubt is beyond me.

Maybe give him the benefit of the doubt by not completely making up he's out bcos he's depressed.

Aww does the poor multi-millionaire sometimes feels a bit down and a bit sad because top level pro football can sometimes be tough? My diplodocus-sized heart bleeds for him. I'll be sure to pray for him ahead of all the those people in the real world dealing with real problems every day.
Not for nothing but this is a terrible take. People with mental health issues cross every spectrum of life. About 3 years ago i was afflicted with it and it took the better part of a year for me to feel more or less "normal". My mind was telling me things i know weren't true and there was nothing i could do about it. When i went for support there were people of all ages and income levels there.

If you have never had to experience it first hand then consider yourself blessed but 100% someone you know either had or has these issues.

For all anybody knows the 70grand might make him feel worse, not being able to justify it with on-field performances.
Let's hope, if there is a depression aspect to his absence, he can get fully well - at his own pace - both mentally and physically.

Agreed. It's all conjecture of course, but I mentioned a few weeks back about a potential vicious cycle where he may want to play, and many fans expect him to...

... however if he can't play that could worsen the situation. If you're not feeling 100%, the niggles can be exacerbated and self-doubt and complexities can set in.

I know many years ago I suffered a pretty serious foot injury, and while apart from the specific injury I was fit and well. Yet, I soon slipped into feeling quite low.

I couldn't do my job to the fullest of my ability; I couldn't exercise any more; I wasn't able to do all the things I'd done so nonchalantly before the injury.

As a person who is usually pretty resilient and buoyant, it was quite disheartening, and it impacted on others. So, I pushed to counter it and it inflamed other injures.

In reality, my consultant was right - relax, take time and let your body heal. When I did that, all the niggles started to dissipated, and I rebuilt my confidence again.

This perverse view that he doesn't want to play really annoys me because he's a professional athlete who has previously shown a real will to play and compete.

Whether he's paid £70k a week or not is pretty irrelevant.
