Tempted to put a score on him tomorrow now! lol

Imagine if he does though - we'd be just like other team with a striker.
I'm not sure that's entirely true, tbh.

He had a lot of games toward the end of last season and was about effective as a chocolate fireguard. Richarlison got us the goals to survive apart from the headed goal he got v Palace.

I'd be relaxed sticking with Gray up front, and Simms alongside him if we're chasing a game.

Nah mate, he enables so much.

We look often what we are a team without a Centre forward, its massively frustrating, fair play to Dyche, Gray and Simms - we've dug deep and found options deep in the squad but none of those options aren't without their limits- but if we have a go to experienced Centre forward that changes the dynamic of the team completely and enables others. Remember the Palace game at home two of those goals were down directly to DCL and his overall play, he can be the difference between a draw or a win.

Playing DCL means the team will look to him to get the goals and not themselves. That's been our strength in the last 2 months: everyone becoming potential goal scorers.

If he comes in, ok. But we have to be better with his inclusion. I just dont think that;s a given and I dont understand how others fervently believe it to be the case...not in terms of his form over the last 12 months.

The "if we have DCL we'll get comfortably out of this mess" line is for the birds.

A counter there would be he occupies Centre backs and runs channels and pulls defenders out of their set up space and shape - hes very good at that and its often unseen - that invariably creates more space for others - this goal Vs Palace is an example he comes deep, pulls the defensive shape apart, makes the defender commit and creates space for the rest of the team to progress the play, overload and score. An example of the unseen work i speak of and what he gives in overall play, which is enabling for others.

It's entirely on point for your immaculately smoothbrain character to like geriatric players with no skill or pace for arbitrary non-football reasons but dislike the only striker we have because of nothing.

If we have Doucoure on the pitch that'd be much more potent as he can occupy that space naturally.

A player who never learned to cross consistently across a 15 year career who lost all his pace a few years ago, probably.

Plays for Everton still.
Oh I see, the feller with Oliver Cromwell as his avatar doesn't rate the Irish international and our best RFB for about 30 years.

Ok.
