What happens if he plays against Wolves and it’s too soon, keeping him out of the more winnable home fixture.

Not sure I’d be so keen to risk it.
It’s a bit like when your best penalty is 5th taker in a shootout, it might not go that far.
We might save him for next week at which point a win might not be good enough if it’s out of our hands.
He has to play for me.

He needs to commit to these next two games, and then he can rest in the summer. Again, there was an article printed just before the start of the season regarding the myriad of injuries that Richarlison was playing with at the start of last season. "Give me the injections, I'm playing" was Richy's attitude. Dominic needs to show at least a little bit of the same attitude for 2 more games and play through a bit of discomfort

Hopefully he’s fit. I don’t really like the “play him anyway” shouts; he’s a human being; pretty sure if it wrecks him to do so that’s not a nice thing to happen regardless of Everton’s league status.

I get that, but playing with a tight groin is different to being rushed back from a torn quad.
If he trains well tomorrow imo the push should be to get it strapped up and take the chance, even if he is playing at 80%.

It’s a tricky one. I know Dyche and the club have a responsibility to just get points and not to placate the fans, and also handling Dom may require a different approach for many reasons, but I think the fans are always left in the dark to speculate and panic with injuries this season. I for one would prefer a “We are going to take no chances with Dom, so we are targeting the last game”, than a garbled sidestep that sounds more negative than positive, but still leaves hope, which will evaporate an hour before kick off.

Fully understand the reasons to not be 100% open on team selection. But purely selfishly I’d rather 48 hours to mentally prepare for Maupay compared to 1 hour. I wouldn’t be moaning about it in October, just finding it a bit stressy now.
better to have 47 hours of hope than 48 of depression

God, Thumbs up to you then m8 👍

48hrs of Knowing we're back down to pining our hopes of survival on the Magestic Maupay, not sure I'd survive to the game !!!

( Anyway have faith m8, DCL will be starting Sat, and Maups will have Been promoted to ball boy....

Let’s hope training goes well tomorrow and he’s in the team
If he wasn't playing Dyche would say so.

He tends to leave no room for doubt in the press ocnference before a match if it's a 'no'.

Probably the only note of caution is that as long as he doesn't break down in training then he plays.

Away from home he's more crucial. That's a winnable game against a team that doesn't score many...less than us, in fact.

At home we've won without him.

In any case I dont think it'll be either or. He had a slight pain against City and I'd say after the pressurised and tense games he's played so far that's encouraging that he was going to carry on second half against City.

IMO he plays the final two of the season.

You really arent comparing the 2 are you?

I dont thinks DCL is comfortably better than the Championship, yes he would look good in there but he's hardly PL elite.
A fit Dominic Calvert Lewin is a top 6 calibre striker. The only reason he's still slumming it with us lot is because we ruined his fitness by rushing him back over and over again.
