Nobody really knows and I know preseason is a good time for fitness, but maybe we dont want to risk him against League One cloggers?

But I have no idea what his current status is.
Yep, no point getting him smashed with new season just round the corner.

I suspect he does feel great, is training well, but that still means some way off a return to first team action for fear of suffering a set back as not 100%...trying to get him rid of all niggles. But sheesh...how long can it take!!

Cannot be relied upon to be our number one striker, as he is too injury prone
We need to sign another striker alongside Danjuma, desperately .
Ideally, someone who can operate as a targetman . DCL used from the bench, when fit

We shouldn’t loan him but I would guarantee he would suddenly become a hell of a lot less injured working with an actual medical team

He scored 2 in 15 starts last year.
What he offers the side as a central striker is far more than his goals. Or lack of.
I wouldnt think its impossible to find a striker who scores more. Then again this is Everton.
100%.

His greatest asset is the way he allows us to play. He’s a sticky target man who can stretch defences, hold the ball up and allow us to transition from defence to attack.

It’s not about his goals.

It’s hard for a striker to be consistent when is always struggling to get fit. That is the reality regardless of how good he can be at his best. He offers a lot still but his goals are dearly missed.

The bottom line is, why sell him if we're not going to get anything material for him

A loan would be even more meaningless

We need to add striker depth anyway, to turn DCL into a nice to have - if he's fit, he's a nice to have, but we would be mad to count on him to be fit for more than half the season

That right there is the issue with him all together. Cant risk him here. Cant risk him there.
Its no way to run a team. This should have been addressed a long time ago with replacements.

Is he actually back with the club now or is he still away doing his own personal training stuff?

I would not entertain loaning him out but I definitely sell him for offers over 20 million.
If we stick with him and he breaks down again we won't get a bean for him whereas 20m would be all profit on the FFP
