DCL's fitness destabilizes the team. When his contract up? If someone offered 20-30m for him now I'd say take it and get in someone who can hold down a place. Of course there's nothing to say they don't go the same way as Gbamin, in which case the 'believers' say we probably keep DCL and eventually watch him hobble away on a free, in lieu of what... 10 goals max a season. How many last season, 5? I don't think he even got that much.

He has class when fit, got the winner in our World Cup U17s. Carlo taught him to stay put in the box tap in goals with better service. That very much plays to his strengths as a footballer and an 'athlete'. So if he starts, I wanna see McNeil and Iwobi et al delivering to him.

If that's not happening and he's godda run lines, channels, hold up play, score. Nah, I don't see that. Like Davies, Holgate, DCL, JJK and a host of other home grown guys I feel the love of fans and clubs to see these guys succeed in blue actually holds us back from better signings.

It's the same mentality I have towards my nearly-always-hopeless weekend Acca - but the reality is I can afford that. Can we afford a season of Maupay and Youssef?

like it mate. Sell DCL and bring in big Che.

Great news that he is looking to be fit perhaps for the fulham game. I wouldn't though play him as a starter every week for obvious reasons. Perhaps starting home games and super sub for away games allowing to build so much
needed match fitness would be the best way to go. Playing at home is easier normally for a striker as you would expect the team to be more on the front foot.

No one is going to pay 20 - 30 million for a striker who barely plays.

If his value was 20 - 30 million, it'd mean he was playing far more than he is. And if he was playing far more than he is, I'd want to keep him.

We will need him more in away games as an out ball, otherwise we will be pinned back.

I would use the young Portuguese striker for that...and perhaps bringing dcl as a late sub if needed or for those key fixtures against direct opposition.

If he was playing & fit, his stock would now be 50 million plus - an England international - we tried Moise keen say no more ..... a starlet who had everything - any no 9 who from aboard will find the prem a very hard league ....

Have you watched him crossing a ball?

Wobes simply has the worst technique I have ever seen in a footballer. His passing and crossing are horrific. I for one do not want Iwobi attempting to deliver anything.
Thing is I wouldn’t even say his technical ability is bad, certainly in terms of close control he suppose to be one of the best. He does make it look like it’s more by accident than design sometime though.
But his passes are so hot and cold it’s unbelievable, looks like he wearing an orthopaedic shoe most of the time.

we didn’t bring DCL through the academy and he isn’t a boyhood blue. We signed him from Sheffield when he was like 19.

Also, DCL leaving on a free after we signed him for £1.5m is hardly the same as us signing over priced crap for hundreds of millions and letting them leave for free.

We look much better with him in the team. If we can bring in a striker to take the burden off and allow him to recover/manage his fitness, it could work really well. Same way Wilson at Newcastle has.
