Hello hello. Either he’s just found his kit behind all his sexy outfits and remembered who he plays for, or he’s been told he’s starting?

? Don’t get me wrong, I like him as a player and a person, and have more than a little sympathy for what he’s been though mentally at the hands of our world class rehab squad.

Just shocked at the sudden flag waving from him out of the blue. For me, I think he’s been given the nod. Hope so. First 60 rather than last 15. Maupay won’t get a touch if we camp in our 6 yard box.

Well said. How and why so many people talk about him like a top class striker is baffling. 25 years old and has only gotten into goal scoring double figures twice, and that was a couple of seasons ago.

Play to his strengths and he's a decent striker. Good in the air, no doubt. Better than Rondon and Maupay, but he's nowhere near the level of elite strikers who you can bank on getting towards 30 goals a year. Mid-level striker with some good attributes, nothing more.
Like you, I think he's a decent enough player, despite how poor his overall strike rate is. I'm not sure that those touting him as one of the top forwards in the country are being objective, though.

I do give him credit for scoring 29 league goals across two seasons (netting 14/15 on average is nothing spectacular, but not bad). However, I can't help but wonder if it's not a coincidence that he had his best period of composure in front of goal while playing behind closed doors.
