It’s not just his goals we need, it’s his ability to win the ball in the air in the middle third.

Virtually every long ball he’s in contention for in that area, he wins. Either a flick-on or a cushioned ball back to one of our midfielders.

It was central to us getting out of our half late on yesterday, and central to us being able to take the game to United in the closing stages last week.

The worst part is that we often play as if he’s there doing that when he’s not on the pitch. Maupay cannot do that.

That is essentially what gave Spurs their territorial dominance for large parts of the match.
 


He is probably basing it on the fact he has eyes. Dom is a very average player. His decision making is appalling, 90% of the time in a 1 on 1 he will fail. Its absolutely shocking that we have hung our hat on such a bang average striker

There are conversion rate stats that completely negate another of your magical conjecture facts.
