Dry your tears :(

This would be a fantastic move.

Ive said since not far into last season, Beto & Maupay out and a new CF in.

Cant do much worse than non-scoring centre forwards
Selling Beto is pointless we would get less for him than we paid, better to see if he adapts more next season. Yes he's very raw but I think he can be useful he hasn't really had an extended run in the team to be judged so harshly in my view, I agree Maupay will go and we need an actual target man though...

Hey @Goat your favourite player is itching to leave Everton and looks like he won’t sign a new contract and wants to join those horse punchers where he’d probably play second fiddle to Isak

How do you feel about him now?

Hahah I think you'll find @Nymzee is the one shedding tears.

I also really like DCL but to get a decent fee for him 12months ago would have been a miracle.

Lovely bloke, good player but low goals and turned up half a dozen games last season.

Minteh in the deal...no brainer

Still goosebumps

that game made sure that we definitely could not get relegated on the last day of the season with Arsenal away however because of how crap the teams below us were in the grand scheme of things it ended up meaning nothing because we could have lost to both palace and arsenal and stayed up however emotionally it was everything at the time

I want someone to come in who is desperate to score goals.. (ala Richarlison) never got that feeling with Dom, he always lacked composure and conviction when it mattered most.

Sentiment has held us back for too long, he’s done a job, he won’t take us forward to the next level so let’s part amicably and take the money.

We need to sell Beto and Maupay, and sign 3 strikers in. I'd go for that one from Luton Town, scored a few for them.

Yes we need to sell those 2 but id say 1 or 2 players in max. Chermiti on loan to PSV or suchlike and we'll be in a good place in a year.

Two questions:

1. He'll need to be replaced. The other two, through inexperience or ability, have not shown enough to handle those minutes under Dyche. How much will his replacement cost.

2. How important is he to our league position? If we are talking about hierarchy in the table, not much. If we are talking about relegation, he's a 150 million player.

If his market value is below any of the above, there's a strong case to keep him.

I think when we look at the numbers DCL can be replaced by Beto -- providing we bring in Minteh who is rapid and effective in the final third.

Having said that, as ive mentioned many times, sell DCL, Beto, and Maupay and bring in a goalscorer with pace.

Jonathan David is someone ive wanted for a couple of summers now. Touted to move last summer but still at Lille and one year on his contract.

Ok, we may not get him but that quick, agile profile can be found and a player like Minteh on the right adds a new dimension.

I want to see two quick players added to our attack.

Selling Beto is pointless we would get less for him than we paid, better to see if he adapts more next season. Yes he's very raw but I think he can be useful he hasn't really had an extended run in the team to be judged so harshly in my view, I agree Maupay will go and we need an actual target man though...

The way PSR works is if we spent £22mil on Beto (i think it was £22mil + £3mil clauses) then now his book value is £16.5mil. Lukaku and Abraham leaving Roma...

Why would I? I love Dom, I want him to leave Everton.

You love a footballer more than the club?

Pity he's got a mrs.

Seeing Newcastle fans underwhelming reaction to this news will make it twice as hard for DCL, doubt he’ll get the love or support he had here but that’s his call.
I genuinely think (assuming they keep Isak) this is a poor move for him and he’ll struggle for minutes up there. If they ever do get to turn on the money taps he will be surplus very quickly.

It’s not impossible to replace him. If he doesn’t want to sign a new contract then thanks very much and bye bye.
Yes, it's actually possible for a departing player to be a bit of a loss whilst also a serious opportunity for upgrading. Will we miss him? If he is not replaced, yes. However, DCL should not be our ceiling. When I say "DCL", I mean the fella who, whilst reasonably effective, is only available for a fraction of our season. He was available for most of last season, and underwhelmed. He was unavailable for most of the previous. THAT player can most definitely be effectively replaced.

If he doesn't want to stay, then this is a no-brainer.
