We have to look beyond DCL. His work outside of the box is good but he is just not a natural scorer. The myth of not creating chances for him is busted. We need better, that will cost us unless we can find a hidden gem. Reality is....we will struggle and struggle more until we find a natural goal scorer who can take chances offered to him..........not all of them but some of them. This is his last season for us so unless we buy some one capable, or, Chermiti or Broja can step up for us we will always struggle
 
That game was a microcosm of DCL, he does so much right, works hard, makes the right runs, chips in defensively, links up well and gives defenders a tough time....... But, when through on goal, you just don't back him to score.
 
I think the lad had a really good game today. That being said. I would be sitting him down on Monday, showing him those three misses and asking him whether or not he would like to talk sensibly about a new deal now. No team on the planet is paying him 160k a week for finishing of that calibre

Just shows that scoring goals and having confidence means Jack

He had two one on ones and messed up both

The sooner people just accept the fact he’s a bad finisher and can easily be replaced this summer the better
 
On a completely different note.

I’ve always thought he carries himself excellently and has clearly been raised really well. His parents should be proud.

imo he has the making of an Everton captain.

It’s a shame he’s playing the club like a fiddle and winding down his contract to leave on a free. Proper snide move imo

He’s just not a natural finisher.

He reminds me so much of the likes of Antonio and others.

He’s got some brilliant attributes and were a much better side with him in it.

Let’s be honest, if he could finish he would have left Everton a long time ago. IMO he’s at the right club.

Hopefully if the takeover goes through can bring someone in January who can take some of their chances. If the club isn't safely clear of the relegation zone by then can't take the risk with a forward who misses so many big opportunities

I’m assuming the club feel like Broja is the natural replacement but we’ll see. Long term target who quite frankly, we’ve been incredibly fortunate to get in on a zero cost loan.
