2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Automatically has to be second choice as soon as Broja is ready. God knows when that will be though, might even be too late for us to stay up. But even with Broja, we are going to need much more from our full backs and wingers, and I just can't see it as they're all crap - Ndiaye obviously aside.

Just watching brent/bourn on motd. This threads full of comments about service etc. Wissa 2nd goal. Straight forward pass in front of Wissa. He finished a one on one perfectly. He's not an elite striker. He's not a sought after forward. Just your standard forward who showed how even those finish one on ones with the keeper.
Just hits you sitting here watching thinking ours misses that 100%.
Not a fan of comparing but you just think why are even bog standard sides and forwards doing what we make look impossible.
hits home how bad we are.

A hell of a player but looks like his last season for now in an Everton shirt. Wonder if he'll come back like Dunc did if the grass isn't greener at Newcastle or wherever he goes off to.

He's wanting the new owners to give him the contract he wants but the question is whether he's worth the 200k a week.

He in no way should be described as a hell of a player. He's a player I respect as I think his natural ability when he came through was actually quite poor and was baffled we were playing him as much as we did. He's worked hard on his first touch and has become a workable prem striker with the occasional cracking headed goal. But his finishing is still awful and that's why he's the leading striker for a team that is constantly fighting relegation.

Richarlison and James made his stock in football way higher than it should be.

You are right that he's improved a lot from when he first arrived. The days of Koeman playing him as a right centred attacker still give me nightmares.

A combination of things I think, not the greatest with the ball in striking positions, doesn’t get much service and at times looks like he’s playing with in himself to keep himself injury free for next career move. I’d give Beto a run - he is poor but I personally think he poses a different positional threat and would occupy oppositions defences more/in a different way. He’s one of those players who doesn’t know what he’s going to do next so the opposition doesn’t

I'm hoping the takeover finally sees the end of the myth they call "Dom" - like he's some beloved family member or dear friend. He's yet another potent symbol of our decline as a club, held up as he is as some quality performer in what is now an absolutely feeble squad of incompetent misfits. We have two good players by historical Everton standards. This fella isn't one of them.

He's clearly given up and is looking to his next club. That said, there aren't many number 9's who would flourish under Dyche's tactics. If we replace him like for like it'll do us no good under Dyche.

Tell you one thing, if he was eying up a big old pay rise as a Bosman, clubs will be having serious second thoughts about his value at this rate.
Reported to be on £100k per week atm, he’d do well to match it on this form.
