One of the things Dyche was good at was not rushing players back.

I hate this when it gets brought up. Although it was a stupid thing for people to do obviously but for all intensive purposes what people in the away end saw was us getting tonked by villa then DCL sit down and ask to come off.

I was watching it on tv and i thought hed just given up and wanted to get off the pitch. Wasnt till the camera showed the other side of his face and you could see he had another head growing off his cheek. Then it showed you he got the wack in the face 5 minutes previously and kept on playing, mans pain tolerance must be through the roof!

That’s what I thought. Benetiz and Lampard should have held him back but put him at further risk to try and save their careers. Benetiz did the same to Torres if I recall correctly and I don’t think DCL has been the same player since his initial injuries either.

Can see he’s got visibly more frustrated this season but he has never struck me as a difficult personality.

Been nothing but professional throughout a dreadful period at the club. Why don't people hate on players like Tosun instead ? Cost a fortune and did nothing.

Imagine if Moyes tweaks the team and he starts scoring. I guess it's too late for him here now.

Not very often you’d see a player do that and he’d never given any indication he was that sort of player previously. Understand the frustrations but it wasn’t a good advert for our fan base at that moment. He must have been fuming.

Tbf ive seen xavi in the middle of a el classico when they were loosing 3-0 just give a big sigh sit down and motion to the bench to sub him off. He wasn't injured and he played the next match, he'd just couldnt be bothered anymore.

If he can do that, the captain of barcelona during the el classico anyone can.

But yeah i would of been fuming if i was him tbh and i would imagine it was probably the day that the relationship on DCL part brokedown with the fans

Agree not saying is corrct but was alot of things did get that reaction but the lack of a real striker, goals, fear of relegation. Then the amount of injuries that have happend with him. Would say every fan at that game had no idea of his cheeckbone injury. Blame the club in this situation has caused massive frustration with fans, esp for me because of lack of cover in most positions. For me his time is up here we cant pay what he wants and has not shown worth it. Also csnt blame him for wanting out is fine wanting something new at his age

On the flip side if he does start scoring and performing better there will be people calling him out for not being professional and not giving it his all under Dyche

lol you honestly thought he’d sat firm and asked to come off - line when has that ever happened?

So weird what things stick in your memory. I know he was limited going forward but I loved Tony Hibbert so must have been that. If he was in our squad now he’d quite easily be our best fullback, which gives some indication of what Moyes is going to be working with.

He was terrible going forward, but very, very good in defence.
