2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

He’s 28 in March. He’s not going to get any better. This is it. Agree with the poster who said his utility to Everton now is generating funds, as limited as they may be. I’d ship him out this month. Hopefully there is some hipster coach in Europe who’s game plan revolves around a constantly offside striker who ambles around and misses chance after chance. All for £100k a week. I just hope we withdraw any contract offer we had for him.

with the exception of 1 season under arguably one o f the greatest managers to grace the game.. He's a very poor striker.
He does good things, he wins everything in the air (pointless when there's no one around and no pace to race on to things) and he can hold the ball well (again, pointless when there's no one around him) but that's it. He's getting chances but he couldn't finish his dinner.
I watched him first half last night…. Mistimed his leap countless times for headers and hardly any ball up to him stuck … he really was very poor last night

I am probably going to be slated for this, but I thought he played well tonight, held the ball up well caused Mings problems with pace, could have had a couple of goals, yes should have done better with that one at the end.

He is obviously low on confidence, but like it or lump it at present he is the best striker we have at the club, so if the fans get on his back, that is certainly not going to help going into the remaining games.

Anyone who say he didn't put the effort into tonight need to stay off the ale
He should get “could have had a couple of goals” translated into Latin and get it as his motto on his family Coat of Arms.

It’s a bad situation. With hindsight it would have been best for all parties had he left earlier. I think he’s gone stale here big time. I guess PSR meant we couldn’t realistically replace him so we held on too long.

It's not all his fault, but I find it absolutely baffling that we persisted with him and Doucoure for half a season and just watched the games pass us by. He doesn't pick himself but it's absolutely negligent that we've spent god knows how much on Maupay/Beto/Chermiti yet we're continuing to play a fella that doesn't score goals and is leaving in five months.

Imagine have the balls to be asking 130k a week whilst serving up this every week?

He should be embarrassed running on the pitch.
Apparently he still thinks that he can get back in the England team the fella is totally deluded.
If we have a contract on the table for over 100 grand a week it needs to be ripped up by the new manager.

That last chance is symbolic. I think he badly timed the run and was too much forward, so he didn't hit the ball well. He had hard times under Dyche, but 2 goals scored while having 11 big chances missed, that's just not good enough for a striker, and it's basically every season like that. Sadly we only have Beto to replace him, but we have to take what we have.

But I'd rather have something like Doucoure 2.0 2 seasons ago, someone that isn't good on the ball, but at least is effective to score goals
