2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

The excuses made for him.

He's been allowed to stay at this club because of that.

He is in no way shape or form an adequate CF for this football club, never mind a good one.

Do some people not want better?

Totally agree.

But you also waxed lyrical about Dyche so pick a side. We either expect better or you settle for below average.

Just watching the highlights and it really was a lovely goal. Anyone does that in the league and you're thinking, yep that was tasty. But there were probably 3 other chances (maybe 4, I can't remember fully but there nights have been an offside chance where he should have done better before the whistle?) where you'd think a PL striker should be 50 50 on. The one where he was through on goal but miscontrolled it was most jarring, but the header straight at the keep after Mangala hit the post was a good chance too. The second half chance was just poor control, but even then he probably should have tried to back heel it or something as that turned shot was never going in. Sigh, it's a shame. I wonder where he'll end up...maybe abroad?

Not even getting a shot off one the one off of his thigh is pretty wild. He was under no pressure.

The others are chances, but I think the chance of scoring is fairly low.

Three things i wanted for next season. Ones happened. Dyche has gone. Other two were Doucoure and Calvert lewin gone.
Will be criminal if we go into the new stadium with Doucoure playing in that role. I think calvert lewin will get a couple more now no longer under dyche but he's still not a good enough finisher. He's also decided he doesnt want to be part of Everton in their new stadium so bye bye 👋

I didn't see the game so don't know how he played overall but that was a Quality Goal, 3 defenders within arms reach plus the 'keeper between him and the goal to spin 180 degrees and fire it in was superb and I wouldn't be surprised if it wins G.O.T.S.. It looked like he came close with his other chances and if he starts putting 50% of those away we will move away from the bottom in no time. If he can carry on with the improvement of the last 3 seasons he could be a superstar that we will struggle to replace.
Anybody saying he's not good enough for us and that he's not a striker and we should get rid have issues that aren't completely football related!

A 1:17 strike rate.

He’d miss the bin

First touch was perfect then it came off his knee and chance was gone.

As he gets more confidence, he will bury that next time.

Now he knows balls are coming over the top and through the lines, he will get more chances.

Thinks he's probably still nailed on to leave on a free isn't he? Can't see us going anywhere near the contract offer it would likely take and don't think the juice would be worth the squeeze either. Hopefully he gets a few goals between now and May and can leave on good terms.
