Really glad we're giving him games, but I'm still not sure what kind of player he's meant to be? Feel like he might be a decent finisher, but he barely gets in the opponent's 18 yard box when he's played out wide, so I have nothing to base that on.

I don't think he should be wide. Many times Cuco damaged the slovakians' right only for all his creative play to be undone by DCL's lack of finesse on the ball. I would much prefer a Cuco-Sandro axis.

Probably much the same that I do mate, and I freely admit that it's not a widely held view on the forum, that the lad has all-round ability and can do a job simply and effectively without looking flashy.

Granted, he doesn't exactly shine playing out wide, but, for whatever reason, I'm seeing positives that very few others seem to see. To be honest, if you think he was one of the worst players on the pitch then that just leaves me scratching my head and wondering why we're so far apart on judging the lad. But it'd be terminally dull if everyone agreed on everything !

Showed endeavour, won headers, had some skill but did over do it a few times. I like him. Works hard. He won't start against stoke. Another striker will be there.

Is probably the best description of what he is, at the moment. He tried a few 'skills' when they weren't needed but, he also got the ball when the odds were against him. Needs a period of playing through the middle, to confirm what type of player he is but, don't see him getting that here so, maybe a loan somewhere?

Sandro on the pitch for a few minutes underlined how far off PL level he is.

I get how we need a scapegoat but he was good. Linked well, won his headers, set up a great chance for Rooney, tracked back.

What more do they want from a 20-year old striker playing out wide.
