He's 20 lads, far from the finished article and playing in a role for the team that probably does him no favours.

scored the winner in a WC final as a main striker which is where he will end up probably.

Can I just re-iterate again though, he is 20 years old playing in a position where you cannot hide.

Tried his best and shows glimpses of being a decent target man in the future. But Ron for the love of God stop playing him wide!!
I think he would pair well with Coleman (once he comes back) out wide as a counter attacking option, but he shouldn't be out there otherwise.

Yeh he's not a winger but his attitude is spot on and I wouldn't call him a weak link. Set up the best chance in the first half and could have been a threat late game from all the crosses.
But that's the point, he's playing on the wing. We can only judge him on that because that's where he plays for us every time he's on the pitch. He's a senior player now, on senior player wages, and he's being picked ahead of experienced competition. Because of that I'll judge him like any other player, and to me he currently offers far too little attacking threat to be a regular in the side.

But many unfortunately solely judge him completely on his wing performances and have wrote his career off already.

Why is he bloody playing there though? Couldn't give a monkeys how old he is.

Think most people forget he jumped from League 1 games with Northampton to the PL playing out of position. The step up is enormous and he already looks better with experience.
He has his moments when he looks pretty good on the ball. I think that is the second time he picked off a defender like that and got a decent strike away. He needs to be a bit more clinical, but he is still only 21 I think? Plenty of room to grow

Think he'll get more gametime in his proper position once we get our main targets in.
Holds the ball up well, calm around the box with some nice Intelligent passes, decent turn of pace.
With a bit of experience under his belt and filled out a bit he'll be a handful

Because the manager picks him to play there is the obvious answer, so I guess he sees good reason to.

As for his age, I am stating that for people writing him off already of which there seem to be a few.

Personally I don't think anybody who writes any players career off at 20 can claim to know the first thing about football. My opinion is solely on his current level, which I don't think is good enough. He has plenty of time to improve.
