Worked his socks off on the right, despite not being an out and out winger. Strong in the air and linked well with Rooney while he was on. Don't get all the hate, I really don't.

Is he going to get us above 7th place? Would he start for even any other team in the league?
No
No

Not knocking the lad he is a decent footballer but would rather start lookman

In fairness had Rooney scored when DCL had dug that ball out from under the defenders feet we would all be raving about him. Give him and the others ten games or so to settle in before we bring out the lynch mobs!

Koeman put him there yesterday because he was used as a target (his height) when long ball from the keeper was launched upwards to the field. He had done an average job because his physical presence is not up to PL standard yet. We do need a proper target man before next Thursday. Get the TM and Siguardsson in asap.

Given a difficult role last, i.e. Stand out on the right and we will launch it towards you, and then you header it back into the centre. Not sure it was best use of him.
Seemed a bit lightweight still.
We definitely need a new striker so he can have time to develop.

I thought he did okay, and was more of a threat than either Rooney or Mirallas in the first half, which considering he was largely out of position was a credit to him. I think we're unfairly judging him because Sandro came on and played so well, but DCL did okay for me. He shouldn't be starting on a regular basis, but there's clearly a player in there.

For the first time, tonight, I saw some potential in the lad. Like his dogged persistence.
Thought 1st half was about as good as he has played for us, 2nd half he did nothing but get flattened twice by their full back and that was probably as he made him look silly a few times in 1st half. Obviously nowhere near the end product but was good to see him trying to get involved last night instead of it all going on around him like it was last season. Still think a loan to Championship would be ideal for all but if Koeman wants to use the lad then we have to get behind him.
