I can see Fat Sam signing an established workmanlike centre forward and playing him over DCL.

Perhaps, though its difficult to see who could come in and would be an upgrade on DCL and Niasse (plus Onyekuru to come next season). If we get ourselves to 30 points by mid-January I think he'd probably just use the money to replace Williams and Jagielka (and Baines, possibly - though if Kenny continues to impress on the left then that might not need doing), which is probably more pressing now.

Unfortunately for him he's not going to be scoring regularly until he's he's got people playing closer to him. Currently when he gets the ball there's nobody within 20 yards of him. I don't think we can gauge how good he is until he's got support around him.
