..it was on Facebook but i’m sure somebody posted it on here. Ironically, Klaassen won the little competition they had but Rooney looked different gravy. He puts one across the keeper into the top corner and you think, “that’ll do me”.

He's improved and lead the line for us when Rooney and Sandro have shown themselves incapable of the job. Right now I agree with those who would prefer to see us have somebody other that Dom in there because as much as he has improved, he still isn't of the quality I want to see from us at the moment.

The shouts of him not getting service are true as much as the shouts of him not being quality enough imo. He's come a long way from what I thought of him last season and I have high hopes that he can continue improving but he's not starting eleven quality for me outside of the freak circumstances of this season where nearly every other senior professional footballer at the club has contracted viral crapness.

So who do you suggest could be this 'Great' striker? and how much do you suggest they would cost?

I would suggest that a 'Great striker is rarely on the market especially in January and if they were they would be up around the £90m we got for Lukaku which has now gone therefore we could not afford, I am happy with DCL and I see him only getting better all round, I also see a long term future for him here.

Time will tell PT, I understand where your coming from but we do not have the resources to meet your needs, one day though my friend, one day.

Oh certainly, that type of striker wouldnt be cheap. And my hope is that in 3 years DCL is that type of striker. In the meantime I think we do need the likes of a Aubameyang, but we need to get him the year he breaks out to afford him, not a few years after. I think likely it will need to be a 30-40 million player who comes up the ranks of a big club, but is surplus with too many high priced veterans.

Is it unlikely due to where our finances is? Possibly, and I understand that. But thats what we should strive for, and at the very least I think we can do better than 20 year old DCL and need to if we want to truly compete, which isnt a knock on DCL, its just recognizing how young and raw he is.

He's doing the best he can and his performance against Newcastle was good but we'd benefit so much from having a quality centre forward brought in during January. I think it'd help the lad to have the pressure taken away from him too.

Nice finish to mop up Rooney's saved penalty, but demonstrates where he needs work with the one on one miss.

Still, I'd rather have him as our hot youth striking prospect than the days of Anichebe...

It's why I'd still like him him to get out on loan for a season playing week in week out as we're going to get a striker in Jan
