To be fair, he was being played on the left for the majority of the game.
He is not a left winger and never will be.
If he is going to play, he needs to be played up front with another striker.

Bigger problems at the club than DCL and Davies though to be honest, I don't see many of the senior pros looking levels above these 2 at the minute but they've become whipping boys.

It's a bit odd thats for sure. Easy targets I suppose. Especially Davies, used to be a time when locals loved the local lads getting a game, not anymore, people seem to want to hound youngsters out of the club if they aren't on 16year old Rooneys level by the time they hit 20.

Absolutely spot on.

We've systematically failed to buy players for our whole left side for a start.

We've chucked serious cash at players who played for teams constantly fighting relegation / who got relegated.

We've brought several players from overseas painfully ill equipped to transition to the Prem either for physicality or personal reasons. Fortunately the latest looks to be slowly adjusting.

We've paid not inconsiderable money (and wages) for two players no longer good enough for a bang average Utd side. One because they're patently characterless and the other because they sadly struggle to meet the physical demands of the league as a veteran (a damn shame too as Mr Rooney can still sparkle).

Yep, he should have been replaced. The sub to make was Niasse for DCL and go 4-4-2.

But he's not a winger, he's a forward. FFs
