But here's a mad thought - what if they improve?

Yes let's improve them and as soon as they show something they will have 1 year left and we will sell them to Man U or someone else for next to nothing and go buy more youngsters that aren't good enough. This way we can always finish 7-9th

I don't care how many people are between him and the goal... a prem striker should be hitting the target... and let's not pretend this is a one off... I have seen him sky the ball from literally under the crossbar and a couple of weeks ago he missed from a yard out but luckily we scored from the rebound. Also Davies form is patchy because he is 19 and because he isn't blessed with pace , height or strength and is playing CM. Barkley got abuse because he was putting no effort it... literally just walking around doing eff all when we didn't have the ball and looking as interested as I would be if I was forced to watch the twighlight movies.

Erm Davies is over 6ft mert.

As good as his all round play is, as a striker he will ultimately be judged on his goal scoring, so he needs to learn to be more clinical asap if he is to make it at this level.

In his first 5 seasons Alan Shearer played 118 games and scored 23 goals(First Division with Southampton), he didn't turn out to shabby did he,imagine these days he'd be sent to the knackers yard for stats like that.

Thierry Henry played 105 and scored 20 for Monaco in his first 5 seasons...The list goes on.

It's too early too write this lad off

See what I mean @BernieH , you're too emotionally invested in these youngsters to make an accurate assessment (not in itself a crime). Comparing Rooney and Davies? DCL with Shearer / Henry??

Just time to accept that they aren't good enough, but at least they tried a bit. A loan or sell with buyback clause (pref.) for both next summer.

You're just being pedantic now and we were having a fairly sensible debate in the Davies thread. Shame.

If being emotionally invested equates to, willing to see how the fully develop before writing them off, then yes, yes I am, shame on me also.

Enjoy your weekend mate

Erm Davies is over 6ft mert.

Not exactly tall tho. Point I was making is that he plays cm and doesn't have any stand out physical attributes to help him. So his game is about movement , touch, passing etc. he will hopefully learn the position with experience . He's 19 now so that is why his form is patchy

Are you an NBA player

No but if you're not big strong or fast playing CM you need to have good vision , touch and passing range. This comes with experience hopefully and he will improve. But his form will be patchy because it's the hardest place to play on the pitch imo
