So people whinge that some posters criticise a sub-standard performance from Davies, yet slaughtering DCL is okay.

get a chuffing grip. Watch the match and see the good runs, with no through ball, or a slow reaction (two touch) through ball, by which time he is offside.

I think he'll do rather well in time and he is all we have got until we sgn a new striker.

Loaning him out would be pointless. He's good enough to be around our first team and learning from Rooney etc, just like all of you who are fuming about him would probably say about Lookman.

Also, he did nothing wrong last night. He was not helped whatsoever by the terrible substitutions from Ronkoe. Our formation became the most unbalanced, tired thing I'd ever seen.

Rooney must have been offsides about 4 times as well, so it wasn't just DCL. I'm still of the mind that Rooney would have been a better sub than Klassen simply because we were dominating the game up until that point. Klassen would increase the tempo which is what really lacked in the second half. Save Rooney for City where we will be playing for the counter attack the entire game. Lookman also should have come off instead of Mirallas who was having a great second half.

we have a young centre forward who is fast heads the ball in the air , and can hold the up the ball back to goal, and fans moan - similar to when my hero emerged to replace the the GV - this DCL reminds me of a young Sharpie who took two seasons to get into the team - give the young lads a chance!

...he's a managers dream because he'll put in a shift whenever and wherever asked. I'm sure we'll see the quality as his self belief grows.
That's what I love about he and Davies. Tom didn't play too poorly last night as much as he wasn't influential in the deep role. He can't really be expected to play through balls from deep to Rooney can he?
Moan all you want, but he's starting on the right wing at City and there's absolutely nothing any of us can do about it.
He probably will. If there was a game Koeman would do it, it would probably be City to start the counter attack.

When he was brought on we had the most unbalanced attack possible. (Arguably 4 strikers on the pitch in himself, lookman, Rooney and Mirallas)

Not fair to criticise in that scenario, as they were all sloppy by that point!

Also didn't think he was offside for one or two of the decisions, as with a few of the others. Biased though, obviously.
No I agree mate. Hard to tell from behind the goal but they were mostly borderline. Also when a striker starts their run they need the midfielder to see it early. Just a second can make a difference. Once it clicks, which I'm sure it will, I think we'll see a lot more of this type of goal this season, especially from the likes of Sandro.

Just hope we get a striker in before the window closes and we can get this lad with bags of potential out on the sorely needed loan he needs before he's really capable of doing things at our level.

Had me right until the Mirallas comment. He was poor all game.
