Donald Trump for President Thread

I thought what both Trump and Clinton actually said in the debate more or less cancelled each other out. On the debate I thought it was very much a dis-honourable draw. Where Clinton came across better was in that she looked much more statesman like in the way see conducted herself.
Trump, in my opinion, came across as a reactionary and he tended to react in an angry manner. Some might see this as passion, I prefer to see a leader of a country being much more circumspect.
I thought, before the debate, that Trump needed to win decisively to bring himself back in the race, he didn't get that decisive win and the polls seem to reflect that.
Clinton's inability to put him away is surely a poor reflection on her.
What about this for a conspiracy theory, Clinton wants to face Trump in the actual election, she knows she can beat him, if the Republicans were to pull him and replace him with a more palatable candidate she would struggle.

No need for any conspiracy; Trump is a brawler and likes a dirty debate and tried to drag Hillary into such. She's pedantic and needs to remain calm/patient and get him frustrated so that his petulance/tics come forward. He wins by "bringing her down to his level" and she wins by "rising above the fray," that's simply their personalities. Trump destroyed the GOP by engaging in personalty wars: he slaughtered Jeb! and the rest were headless and had no recourse (only Cruz, too much like Trump, showed any fight in this regard). Cruz would have been a fearsome foe for Hillary, able to engage her on personality, outsider/insider, and policy, but Trump v. Clinton is pretty straightforward because each candidate is 1-dimensional. If either strays from their strengths it will weaken their appeal.

I've found the opposite. Most of my white American friends are closet Trump supporters. My black American friends are Clinton. Hispanics friends are mixed with the two. My foreign friends (Africa and Caribbean) are almost mostly Trump supporters. It's really odd how everything breaks down.

....I'm amazed Trump's tax affairs isn't THE showstopper. The fact that he's not paying a cent to support public services whilst the rank and file give up a % of their hard earned has to have a significant impact on voters.

It's ok incredible it didn't end a political run for president immediately it came out , it's been almost treated as incidental which seems amazing to me.

And here is where I sound ignorant, and it pains me to type this, but he's using the tax code at hand. I personally do the same thing as him. Until we have a flat tax, or VAT, we will always deduct everything that we can.

But I am suggesting that you havnt paid no income tax for over 20 years, cos that looks to me what Trump has managed to do.

I also deduct everything that legally I can from my gross income, who wouldnt?

You'll find it is. More so considering his opponent.

It really isn't true. Senior Republicans who won't be voting for Clinton let alone a bed wetting supporter of her have removed their support from him. It's an odd fabrication to suggest no one cares outside of people who only want to use it to support Clinton.
I'm not saying Bill shouldn't have been brought to task for the allegations against him
