Donald Trump for President Thread

Huh, and all this time I thought it was the Tea Party that disrupted the GOP platform

In its initial stages the Tea Party might well have done (they were basically Ron Paul supporters), but then it got taken over by money and it just became the old mob in new clothes.

They had no other worthy candidates. The people had no choice but to vote Trump really.
I don't think this is accurate. There are even a couple I could have supported in the last two elections (Kasich this year, Huntsman 4 years ago) that have the intellectual bandwidth to serve well, even if I don't agree with every position they held. This year, Trump's willingness to not be a traditional candidate has muffled the others - they never found a way to counter Trump's populist/opinionated message when they were trying to counter with rational policies and dialog.

Giving Trump credit, he's unparalleled in his willingness and ability to go to the mat and fight as dirty as it takes if he thinks he can win. He effectively targeted a different primary rival each week or two and picked on them until they were out. In the realm of television, bankruptcy courts and multiple-marriages, it's a winning quality. For POTUS, I certainly hope not.

Thanks mate. You see my point? Why can't we have discussion on all these achievements rather than have 192 pages of anti Trump and that's the only reason she "has to win"
I think you're confusing this thread with a rational political debate thread. It's about the orange clown a major party managed to end up nominating for the most powerful job in the world. It's about his major failings as a businessman, husband, politician and general person. He's a reality tv star running for office with no experience. It's as much of a joke as the Richard Pryor movie invoking his none of the above platform, except scarily it's real.

Oh you have reminded me of this gem! :)

Warren Buffet on his tax returns and the comments of Trump:

Buffet has integrity and is a successful businessman. Trump is neither.

Obama, speaking before the debate on Trump:

Obama made a clear reference to the video released Friday in which Trump can be heard boasting about sexual assault and said it was only part of a larger pattern.

“Demeaning women, degrading women, but also minorities, immigrants, people of other faiths, mocking the disabled, insulting our troops, insulting our veterans. That tells you a couple things,” Obama said. “It tells you that he's insecure enough that he pumps himself up by putting other people down—not a character trait that I would advise for somebody in the Oval Office.”
