Totally agree. I think once the caucuses / primaries move out of the extreme conservative states Cruz will fall away into a fairly distant third. The elected Republican candidate will be either Rubio or Trump in a very close call I reckon.

The Iowa caucus isn't winner take all and the state only has about 50 out of 4000+ delegates at the national convention, so the coin tosses were almost meaningless.
Normally but not in all cases. In 2000 we've seen where that amount of delegates in a race for the whole shebang no less make the difference. The race will shape out more as it goes along but if it continues on the trend there then it may be crucial.
