Donald Trump for President Thread

Challenge for the Libertarians is that they seem to have more ideological purity tests and internal squabbling than the extreme right wing of the Republican Party and extreme left wing of the Democrats. Rand Paul tried to bridge the gap to get the Libertarian message to a wider audience and failed with some of the most extensive exposure he or his father ever have had. I think the Gary Johnson sighting will be relatively short and not have a significant impact on the actual campaign or election.

It's probably the most pragmatic ticket the Libertarians have ever had. Only ticket that will have two candidates who have held office as Republicans

Yep. The biggest obstacle for libertarian progress in the USA has generally been the Libertarian Party. When you look closely at these two guys and then look at the alternative, they look better and better and better. Not that they can win, mind you, but I'm not going to let that affect what I do.

I know we're done for. I'm just voting my conscience.

If you had to rank the three Presidential candidates, who would they be? Johnson appears to be your first, then who?

I could see myself voting for Trump under some bizarre remote circumstance, if I got lots of reassurance that he would be someone I could trust to maintain the Constitution and the rule of law, and if I believed it would actually stop Hillary Clinton from becoming President, which I consider inevitable. Under no circumstance do I see myself voting for her. You'll get a collection up for a Thatcher cenotaph outside the new stadium before you'll see that happen.

This from someone who voted for her husband. Twice.

I do not currently consider our Department of Justice as being subject to the rule of law in many circumstances. In many ways, these circumstances greatly remind me of the Nixon Justice department. I've been around long enough to know both well enough. There are many similarities, however in these times as well as those most career (not political) government employees within the beltway were/are partisan Democrats.

This served as a hedge against the kind of activity Nixon was trying to push to cover up his misdeeds of 1972 as he was on the GOP team. There is no similar hedge at work today. This trend will expand under Hillary, and her election does look inevitable. Get ready to hear about her scandals for the next four years minimum, unless reporting them is squelched by some version of the Ministry of Truth.

Governing will be what she does in her spare time. Kind of like Benghazi. The governing officials couldn't let that interfere with the election, as it was very unhelpful for the narrative. See what a success Libya is today after she showed old Daffy Khaddafy who was boss?

PJ O'Rouke, who is more of a social liberal republician, once said that yea there are ideas that the Libertarian party has that appeals to me but everytime I've attended a convention or libertarian get together I end up having a conversation with some crackpot who wants to privateize the sidewalks.

This shouldn't even be a contest but I think its 50/50 right now to whom will win the election. Trump has decent support in Northeast and rustbelt states that have gone democratic. Out of Conn, Michigan, PA, Ohio, NJ, NH and VA, if Trump takes 2-3 of those the election is over. Plus I don't think there is a hatred among blacks and women for Trump that there was for Romney. Hillary's campaign strategy seems to be get the anyone but Trump republicians. THEY. DONT. LIKE. YOU. All the while completely ignoring and not even bothering to give lip service to the sanders crowd. Her campaign pitch to her base seems to be "That guy is bad, and YOURE GETTING A PRO CHOICE JUDGE SO SHUT UP AND VOTE FOR ME SHEEPLE".

People going on like Donald trump as president being a terrible thing..

I mean, 5 years time it's going to be Kanye West there.

Trump is a clown, he's a billionaire many times over so will have no empathy or understanding with poor Americans. He comes across as Racist as well but whether he truly is is another matter. If he gets in though and I don't believe he will, he will still be a puppet to the dark forces who run the States. I like Bernie Sanders but he's never gonna beat the financial muscle of Clinton. Everyone keeps banging on about her experience in Government and how it's an advantage but she's a crook and responsible for mass murder across the Middle East. The world would be much more dangerous with her in the White House. She's heavily involved in NATO and believes in US hegemony. Clinton is owned by Wall Street which is another name for the Military Industry Complex.
