I'm usually a glass half empty type, and the thought of Donny van de Beek did have me holding my head in my hands at first. But with our team so short on numbers and this guy shorely up for it, even if he is looking to cement his place at international level, or just putting himself out there for other clubs to see, it has to be a win, win, doesn't it? He could be just the spark we have been missing... I'm sort of hoping Frank has asked for this and if so he knows why and what he's doing, let's just get behind the both of them if it happens. We are not down yet!

….he’s not impressed at United but I‘ve seen bits of quality in his latest cameo’s that suggest he could be a lot better than he’s shown. I notice he was compared to Klaassen when he broke into the Ajax team which would be a concern.

We have not had an alternative to Gomes, I would hope he will be a step-up.
